    Overview

    The E-931-S33PRGQ provides reliable detection of shiny objects that could be missed by a non-polarized sensor, thanks to its polarized design. A polarized sensor only triggers when correctly reflected light is detected, so shiny objects passing through the beam don't cause false triggers or missed detections the way they can with non-polarized sensors.

    How Polarized Sensors Work

    In normal operation, correctly reflected light returns to the sensor and the beam remains unbroken. A polarized sensor correctly triggers when a shiny object interrupts the beam, because it filters for properly reflected (polarized) light rather than any reflected light. A non-polarized sensor, by contrast, can fail to trigger when a shiny object is present, because stray reflections off the shiny surface can fool the receiver into thinking the beam is still intact.
