Instruction manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER EB-P101-20PHQ — a 4-in-1 HD passive video and power balun (TVI/CVI/AHD/Analog) that transmits video and power over low-cost Cat5e/6 cable instead of coax.

    Overview

The EB-P101-20PHQ is a passive balun pair (one transmitter, one receiver) that lets installers run HD video signal (TVI, CVI, AHD, or analog up to 5MP) plus 12/24VAC/VDC camera power over a single run of Cat5e/6 cable, instead of costly coaxial cable. It requires no external power, includes built-in Grade III lightning/TVS surge protection, anti-static and wave filters, and 60dB crosstalk/noise immunity. Each unit ships with an RJ45 jack plus BNC and DC pigtails for quick installation.

    Features

    • 4-in-1 TVI / CVI / AHD / Analog video support up to 5MP
    • NTSC / PAL / SECAM compatible
    • Transmits video up to 1,476ft (450m) depending on format, resolution, and cable used
    • Transmits power for 12/24 VAC/VDC cameras
    • Built-in TVS surge protection; Lightning Protection Grade III
    • Anti-static and wave filters
    • 60dB crosstalk and noise immunity; exceptional interference rejection
    • Passive operation — no external power required
    • RJ45 jack and pigtails for easy installation

    Installation

    1. HD video/power baluns are connected in pairs — connect one balun to the HD CCTV camera and the other to an HD DVR or remote HD CCTV equipment.
    2. Confirm the distance between the camera and remote video device doesn't exceed the specified range for the cable type, resolution, and voltage used.
    3. Run Cat5e/6 cable (UTP) from the remote video device to the camera using T568-B wiring.
    4. Connect the Cat5e/6 cable to the RJ45 ports of both baluns.
    5. Connect the DC plug of the camera-side balun to the camera's DC connector; connect the DC jack of the other balun to the power supply's DC connector.
    6. Connect the BNC connector of the camera-side balun to the camera's BNC connector; connect the other BNC connector to the DVR or remote device.
    7. Power up the camera and remote video device and confirm both operate as expected.

Sample application chain: Camera (Video/DC Plug) → balun → Cat5e/6 → balun → (Video/DC Jack) Power Supply → Remote HD DVR, Monitor, Switch, etc. Note: shorter range may result when used with a DVR.

    Troubleshooting

Wavy/ghost image via DVR/multiplexer but not directly to monitor Move the Cat5e/6 cable away from interference sources; ensure the same twisted pair connects to a balun at both ends; replace with a new Cat5e/6 cable.
Image background flutters dark/light Remove a local power source, or adjust monitor brightness/contrast.
Image is wavy and shakes Try reversing polarity of the two wires at one end of the Cat5e/6 cable.
Image is weak or faded Reduce cable length or replace with a higher grade (Cat6) cable for longer range.
No image Double-check Cat5e/6 and BNC connections; run a continuity test; confirm camera and monitor are powered up; verify polarity; increase input voltage.
