SCP 926-RCA & 927-BNC Compression Connector Instructions (RGB Mini Coax)

Installation instructions for the SCP 926-RCA & 927-BNC compression connectors — for terminating RGB Mini coax cable.

Overview

These instructions cover the proper termination process for the 926-RCA and 927-BNC compression connectors, designed specifically for RGB Mini coax cable.

Important: Tool Requirement

You must use the specific stripper made for this wire — Part # 818-SCP or a comparable RGB-Mini coax stripper. A standard coax stripper will not work. The cable must be solid center copper.

Installation Steps

1. Using the 818-SCP (or comparable) stripper, strip the coax. This stripper cuts the copper center to a ¼" length and cuts the dielectric to a ¼" length — total overall stripped length from the coax is ½".
2. Fold the braid strands back over the outer jacket. You may want to trim the strands a bit shorter for a cleaner look after compression.
3. Recommended for first-time use: most stripping tools need to be adjusted for optimum cutting depth — use the Allen wrench provided with the coax stripper to make this adjustment.
4. Cut the center copper conductor so the sleeve can sit flush with the dielectric.
5. Slide the sleeve over the center copper conductor (white).
6. Push the wire up into the 926 connector — it should slide in with ease; give it a little extra push before compressing.
7. Compress the connector using the 817 tool.
