Installation and technical manual for the RISCO RK-150T, a microprocessor-based dual-technology (PIR + microwave) ceiling-mounted motion detector.
Installation and technical manual for the RISCO RK-150T, a microprocessor-based dual-technology (PIR + microwave) ceiling-mounted motion detector.
The RK-150T is a ceiling-mounted detector combining infrared (PIR) and microwave (MW) detection technology with a 110° wide-angle Fresnel lens covering a 360° field-of-view. Combining both technologies eliminates false alarms and provides superior RFI/EMI protection.
When the LEDS jumper is IN:
When the MEMORY jumper is OUT (memory-equipped units only), events on the Red LED are latched.
The RK-150T is designed to be installed above the center of the protected area. For best coverage, its lens is arranged into three all-round optical levels covering 12 external sectors, 12 middle sectors, and 7 internal sectors.
Remove the front cover by holding the unit's base in the palm of your hand and turning the cover clockwise.
Wire the cable to the terminal block at the bottom of the PCB:
Note: for memory-equipped units, use the RESET terminal to input an active-low reset signal to clear the latched LED.
The RK-150T has 3 jumpers, each either IN (inserted) or OUT (unused). Unused jumpers are placed on one leg only.
| Jumper | IN | OUT |
|---|---|---|
| LED | Enables all 3 LEDs | Disables all LEDs |
| MEMORY (memory units only) | Events are not latched | Events on Red LED are latched |
| PULSE | No pulse count | Alternate polarity pulse count (2 pulses) |
After a two-minute warm-up period from power up, walk test the detector across the entire protected area to verify proper operation. Caution: make sure to replace the front cover before performing the walk test.
The MW range can be adjusted using the potentiometer on the left side of the PCB. Set it to the lowest position that still provides coverage for the entire protected area.
After completing installation and testing, reset the LED and Pulse Count jumpers to their desired final position, if necessary. The unit is then ready for normal use.
Note: the MW detection pattern corresponds to the optical coverage but depends on reflections from the protected area — verify actual coverage by performing a walk test.
