Installation manual for the RISCO LUNAR PR — a 360° ceiling-mount PIR (passive infrared) motion detector designed for wide-area interior coverage.

General Description

The LUNAR PR 360° ceiling mount PIR is designed with state-of-the-art components for reliable operation across a wide range of applications. It has a wide 110° angle, 360° overview, and uses dual-element pyroelectric technology for superior RFI/EMI protection. It also has automatic temperature compensation.

Installation Procedure

1. Preliminary decisions: Study the space to be protected to decide on the best location for coverage. This unit is usually installed above the center of the protected area. The lens provides detection sectors arranged in three all-round optical levels: 12 external sectors, 12 middle sectors, and 6 internal sectors. Do not mount in direct sunlight or near a heat source (stove, radiator, etc.); detection sectors should point toward the floor, not toward windows or curtains.
2. Frontal cover removal: Hold the unit with its base in the palm of your hand and turn the cover clockwise to open. This releases the 4 latches locking the cover to the base.
3. Opening, mounting, and cable hole: Open the appropriate knockouts for mounting and wiring. Insert the cable through the opened hole and mount the bottom part in its final location. Seal the cable hole and any other opening with a sealant (RTV or similar). Use the 4 marks on the back of the package for mounting.
4. Mounting: Drill mounting holes using the 4 marks on the back side of the package.
5. Terminal wiring: Connect wires to the terminal strip at the lower-right of the PC board:

   Terminal	Description

   TAMPER	Anti-tamper circuit

   Note: Ensure the cover is installed after mounting and wiring — do not test the detector with the cover open.
6. Walk test: The DIP switch on the left side of the PC board has two sections: "PULSES" and "LED." Set PULSES to "1" and LED to "ON." With LUNAR PR closed and powered, the LED lights each time detection occurs so operation can be checked. After walk testing, switch LED to "OFF" so the detector works normally without alerting an intruder that they've been detected.
7. Setting the pulse count: The number of pulses needed to activate the alarm can be set to "1," "2," or "3" via the PULSES DIP switch section. Only one switch should be set to ON at a time.
