Instruction manual for the RISCO Industrial LuNAR Remote Control, used to control, test, and configure the Industrial LuNAR DualTech motion detector.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Instruction manual for the RISCO Industrial LuNAR Remote Control (RK200RC0000A) — a bi-directional infrared remote used to easily control, test, and configure the Industrial LuNAR dual-tech motion detector.

    Introduction

The Remote Control (RC) device is a unique bi-directional infrared remote control tool used to easily control and test the Industrial LuNAR detector. It can perform a self-test on the detector and receive data/status reports, and can send information to update the detector's parameters. The RC is powered by two lithium CR123 batteries.

Enabling RC Communication with the LuNAR

When the LuNAR is configured to Relay mode:

    1. Verify dipswitch 6 on the LuNAR PCB is in "OFF" position.
    2. Verify dipswitch 7 on the LuNAR PCB is in "ON" position.
    3. Apply "0" level to the "RC" terminal on the LuNAR terminal block (usually via a utility output on the control panel).

    For Bus mode:

    1. Verify dipswitch 6 on the LuNAR PCB is in "ON" position.
    2. Enter Walk Test Mode on the ProSYS panel, which enables all Industrial LuNAR detectors on the bus to communicate with the RC.

    Starting to Use the RC

    1. Turn on the RC by pressing the On button. "REMOTE READY / ENGLISH" appears each time the LuNAR is activated.
    2. If required, use the RC arrows to scroll and select your desired language. The last selected language is saved on power-off.
    3. Press Select to confirm.
    4. Point the RC infrared toward the LuNAR, standing within the 36° zone for optimum reception.
    5. If the LuNAR doesn't respond ("NO LINK, TRY TO CHANGE POSITION"), change the RC's position until the link is achieved.

Effective RC Reception Distance vs. Mounting Height

    Point Mounting Height Diameter
    A 2.7m - 4.9m 1.6m
    B 4.9m - 6.2m 3m
    C 6.2m - 7.8m 3.7m
    D 7.8m - 8.6m 4.7m
    E 8.6m+ 5.2m

    RC Key Functions

    • LED On / LED Off: Enables / disables the LuNAR's LED indication
    • ACT On / ACT Off: Enables / disables ACT mode (in ACT mode, the detector switches to MW-only detection when room temperature equals body temperature, or during a cloaking attempt)
    • MW+ / MW-: Increases / decreases microwave sensitivity
    • Self Test: Activates a LuNAR self-test, displaying input voltage, MW signal/noise levels, and PIR CH1/CH2/CH3 DC/noise levels on the LCD
    • Info: Retrieves MW sensitivity, LED status, ACT mode, SW version, and trouble indication — scroll with up/down arrows, confirm with Select
    • On/Off: Turns the Remote Control on or off (toggled). The RC auto-shuts off 60 seconds after the last key press to save battery.
    • Select: Accepts the current selection and transmits it to the LuNAR
    • Up/Down arrows: Scroll up/down a list

    Common Tasks

Controlling the LEDs / ACT Mode

Press the LED On/Off or ACT On/Off button, then press Select to confirm and transmit. The LCD confirms with "Settings were updated."

    Conducting a LuNAR Self Test

Press Self Test to activate; use the up/down arrows to scroll through the results (PS input voltage, PIR CH1/2/3 DC and noise levels, MW level, MW noise).

    Increasing/Decreasing MW Sensitivity

Press MW+ to increase or MW- to decrease sensitivity; scroll to select the desired level (MIN, 25%, 50%, 65%, 85%, MAX, or TRM — TRM sets sensitivity to the level defined by the onboard trimmer), then press Select to confirm and transmit.

Note: If you receive "No link, try to change position," pressing Select again will retransmit the last selected parameters.

    Trouble Messages

    • MW trouble: Trouble in the MW channel
    • PIR trouble: Trouble in the PIR channel
    • PS trouble: Trouble in the detector input voltage
