Setup guide for the Ring Solar Security Sign — a solar-powered yard sign that lets visitors and passersby know your home is protected by Ring, with a light-up display at night.

    Installation

    1. Put the bottom stake in the ground first.
    2. Add the optional extension piece once the bottom stake is in place.
    3. Add the top sign panel.
    4. Turn on the switch.

    How It Works

    • The sign only lights up at night. It uses a light sensor to detect changes in ambient light — if it's daytime when you first switch it on, it won't illuminate until dark.
    • It's powered entirely by sunlight and needs a few hours of direct sun daily to store enough charge to light up at night.

Keeping It Charged Through the Seasons

As the seasons change, the sun's angle and path shift — this can reduce the amount of sunlight your sign receives, which may prevent it from lighting up at night. You may need to relocate the sign to a different spot in your yard at different times of year to keep it charging properly.

    Troubleshooting

Sign not lighting up at night?

    • Confirm the sign is getting a few hours of direct sunlight every day.
    • Test the sign in a few different yard locations to find a spot with enough sun exposure to charge and light up reliably.
