Quick reference guide for setting up the Ring Chime over Wi-Fi and pairing it with your Ring Video Doorbells, using the Ring App.

Chime Wi-Fi Setup — Step by Step

    1. Find the Add Device button located on the main dashboard of the Ring App.
    2. Select Chime from the device list.
    3. Plug the Chime into a standard wall outlet.
      • Follow the setup flow if you haven't set up this Chime before.
      • If you have set up this Chime before, tap the link below the Continue button: "Have you setup this Chime before? Tap here."
    4. Name your Chime device.
    5. Confirm your location.
    6. Wait for the Ring logo on the front of the device to pulse slowly — this indicates the Chime is ready to broadcast its own Wi-Fi network.
    7. Your Ring Chime is now broadcasting a Wi-Fi network. Open your smartphone or tablet's Wi-Fi settings and connect to the network labeled Chime-xxxxx.
    8. Return to the Ring App and press Continue.
    9. Select the Wi-Fi network you would like your Ring Chime to connect to permanently.
    10. Enter your Wi-Fi password if necessary.
    11. Once connected, you'll be prompted to select which Ring Video Doorbells you'd like to pair your Chime to (e.g. Ring HQ, Home, Back Door).

    Tips

    • If setting up a Chime you've already configured before, use the "Have you setup this Chime before? Tap here" link instead of the standard first-time flow.
    • The Chime broadcasts its own temporary Wi-Fi network (named Chime-xxxxx) during setup — you must manually switch your phone's Wi-Fi to this network before returning to the Ring App to continue.
    • You can pair one Chime with multiple Ring Video Doorbells so it announces alerts from any of them.
