    Full text manual (for reference)

Quick guide for the Qolsys IQ WiFi 6 mesh router system, designed for use with Qolsys IQ Panels and IQ Hubs in an Alarm.com-connected security system. Document #IQWIFI6-IM, Revision 2022-8. Johnson Controls proprietary.

    1. Connect to Internet

    1. Connect one end of the provided ethernet cable into an available port on a modem or router.
    2. Connect the other end into the "WAN" port on the IQ WiFi 6.
    3. Plug the barrel jack of the power supply into the "DC-IN" port on the IQ WiFi 6, then plug the power supply into the wall outlet.
    4. The IQ WiFi 6 will automatically power up, configure as the primary IQ WiFi 6, and download any needed updates. The LEDs will be solid green when complete (up to 9 minutes).

Pro tip: If you're adding additional IQ WiFi 6 units, use this time to unbox and power them up.

    2. Add Additional IQ WiFi 6 to Expand Coverage

You can add up to seven additional IQ WiFi 6 units to cover dead spots and improve performance.

    1. Plug the power supply into an additional IQ WiFi 6. The power LED will stop flashing when complete (up to 2 minutes).
    2. Press the WPS button on the primary unit, then on the additional unit, to begin pairing.
    3. The additional IQ WiFi 6 will automatically sync, configure, and download updates. LEDs will be solid green when complete (up to 9 minutes).

Pro tip: Once the sync LED on the Primary IQ WiFi 6 is solid, you can repeat WPS pairing for additional units.

    3. Connect IQ Panel or IQ Hub to Network

    1. On the IQ Panel (or IQ Hub), open the settings tray, touch Settings, then Advanced Settings.
    2. Type a valid Dealer or Installer code, then touch WiFi.
    3. Locate the SSID/Network name (IQ_WiFi_XXXXXX) and touch it to connect. The default password is located on the sticker on the bottom of the Primary Controller.
    4. The IQ Panel will automatically move to the IQ WiFi 6's Security Network.

Important: Make sure the IQ Panel software is version 2.7.2, 3.1.0, or 4.2.0 or higher before pairing to the network.

    4. Configure WiFi Network

    1. On the IQ Panel, open the settings tray, touch Settings, then Advanced Settings, and enter a valid code.
    2. Touch Installation, Devices, WiFi Devices, then touch the IQ WiFi icon.
    3. Select an SSID/Network name to access the Network Settings page and make edits as desired — you'll use this information to add devices to the network.
    4. Press SAVE to complete. The entire IQ WiFi 6 network will automatically sync and reboot.

Note: Changing one network (2.4 or 5 GHz) will automatically change the other to match. If you want existing devices to automatically move to the new network, keep the name and password identical to the previous network.

    5. Connect IQ WiFi 6 to Alarm.com

Using the Alarm.com MobileTech app, find the customer account, then:

    1. Select "Equipment," then "Add Devices," then "Wi-Fi Router."
    2. Choose "Qolsys IQ WiFi 6" and locate the MAC address on the bottom of the Primary IQ WiFi 6.
    3. Enter the MAC address, or touch the camera icon and scan the bar code below the MAC label.
    4. Touch "Add" and name your device.
    5. The IQ WiFi 6 will sync automatically and appear under "Access Points" on the customer's account.

    6. Connect Devices to the Network

    IQ WiFi 6 broadcasts 3 SSID/network names:

    • MAIN — Primary network for customer devices such as TVs, tablets, and appliances.
    • SECURITY — Private network for the IQ Panel, IQ Remotes, video doorbells, cameras, etc.
    • GUEST — For the customer's guests.

Using the network credentials created in step 4, add any new devices to the MAIN network first (you'll move security devices to the SECURITY network in the next step). To move security devices to the security network, log into the Alarm.com customer account, choose "Wireless Network" under Video settings, select the "Security" SSID/Network, and choose "Access Point" (touch "Advanced" to apply to all cameras). Cameras will move automatically.

    7. End User App

IQ WiFi 6 settings and controls automatically appear in the end user's Alarm.com mobile app, including: manage Wi-Fi profiles, view Wi-Fi device list, pause Wi-Fi, and guest network controls. The Alarm.com app is available in the iOS App Store, Google Play Store, and more. A standalone "IQ WiFi" app is also available for end users who are not yet Alarm.com customers.

    8. Troubleshooting

IQ WiFi 6 link quality between the primary controller and secondary agents can be identified using the LEDs on each unit. To improve link quality, try moving the unit to various locations on-site.

Factory Reset: Press and hold the reset button with a paperclip for 15 seconds until the power LED blinks red; release when the LED is solid red.
