    Quick Install Guide for the Qolsys IQ Temp sensor (Qolsys Product #: QS5515-840). The IQ Temp is designed to alert you if temperatures drop below 40°F or rise above 100°F — an early warning that may help protect valuables, pets, and home from extreme heat or cold in the event of an HVAC or thermostat failure.

    Mounting Locations

    Ideally suited for a wide range of applications including:

    • Bathrooms
    • Laundry Rooms
    • Basements

    Note: Avoid areas that may retain heat, such as furnace rooms or near hot water pipes.

    Installation Steps

    1. Choose installation location — select a mounting spot per the guidance above.
    2. Remove battery tabs.
    3. Apply adhesive to mount the device.
    4. Install in desired location.
    5. Learn into panel — place your panel in "autolearn" mode, select "Freeze" as the sensor type, and customize settings as desired.
    6. Learn as low temp (40°F): Open and close the case to "tamper" the device.
    7. Learn as high temp (100°F): Remove both batteries, then hold the tamper button while reinserting the batteries.
    8. Click "Add" to finalize learning the sensor into the panel.

    Note: Sensor Type "Freeze" (Sensor Group 52) is used for both Low Temp and High Temp sensors. Customize the Sensor Name to differentiate which one you are learning.

    Specifications

    Low Temp / High Temp Warning

    • Low Temp alarm: Temperature drops below 40°F, restores when temperature rises above 45°F
    • High Temp alarm: Temperature rises above 100°F, restores when temperature drops below 95°F

    Sensor

    • Cover tamper
    • Unique ID for each function
    • Temperature checked every 5 minutes
    • Battery checked every hour
