    September 08, 2026 2 min read

Specification sheet for PulseWorx UPB Fixture Modules: the FDM2-4 Dimming Fixture Module and FRM1-20 Relay Fixture Module.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Specification sheet for PulseWorx UPB Fixture Modules — the FDM2-4 Dimming Fixture Module and FRM1-20 Relay Fixture Module, both part of the PulseWorx Universal Powerline Bus (UPB™) Lighting Control System.

    Overview

Both Fixture Modules mount on any standard electrical box by snapping into a standard ½-inch knockout, making them easy to retrofit into existing homes for remote control capability. The Dimming Module handles incandescent and magnetic low-voltage lighting; the Relay Module handles appliances and fluorescent lighting.

    • The FDM2-4 Dimming Fixture Module is a dual-load device rated 400W max for a single load, or two loads totaling up to 400W combined.
    • The FRM1-20 Relay Fixture Module is an inline module for any appliance or fluorescent fixture rated under 20A.

    Features

    • 400W power delivery — Dimming modules support a single load up to 400W or two loads totaling 400W
    • 20A control — Relay modules support a single load up to 20A
    • Simple installation — snap into any standard ½" knockout
    • Low cost — a fraction of the cost of hardwired or RF alternatives
    • UPB communication reliability — over 100x more reliable than typical powerline products
    • Scene control — stores 16 lighting levels (or On/Off state for non-dimming devices) per circuit; up to 16 scenes per circuit and over 250 scenes per house
    • Internal dimming/on-off setting — user-selectable operating mode for the Dimming module
    • Variable fade rates — from Instant-on to 60 minutes
    • Security flashing mode — flashes lights on/off when triggered by a UPB command
    • Inductive load control — dims low-voltage lights powered by magnetic transformers, fans, and motors
    • Previous state restored — light returns to its previous state after a power loss
    • Advanced programming — customize fade rates and other UPB light settings

    Installation

    • Pre-wire: Pull power wiring to include Line and Neutral. Run two 120VAC, 12 or 14 AWG rated wires to each fixture module location.
    • Mounting: Mount in an appropriate junction box; snaps into any standard ½-inch knockout.
