Platinum Tools Tele-Titan Crimp Tool (12507C) — Instructions

Instructions for the Platinum Tools Tele-Titan crimp tool (part 12507C) — a combination stripping and crimping tool for RJ45, RJ12, and RJ11 connectors on flat satin and twisted-pair cable.

Unlocking the Tool

To unlock the Tele-Titan, squeeze the handle and hold while pushing the lock pin to the other side. Release the handle — the tool is now ready to terminate.

Step 1 — Prep the Cable

Stripping flat satin cable

• Insert the cable through the 2 strip blades and out past the cut side.
• Squeeze the handle down, slightly release and hold.
• Pull the cable out and away from the tool.
• When stripping 4- or 6-conductor flat satin, re-cut conductors to 1/4". Use the cutter on the cut side.

Stripping twisted pair cable

• Insert into the round stripping cavity.
• Squeeze the handle until the blade slightly cuts the jacket, then hold, rotate the tool clockwise and the cable counterclockwise.
• Note: Scoring the jacket (not cutting through) prevents nicking the conductors.
• Untwist the pairs, remove kinks, and arrange to the desired wiring spec (A or B).
• Use the cutter to trim conductors: 1/2" for Cat5e, 3/16" for Cat6.

Step 2 — Terminate the Connector

1. Insert the prepped cable into the proper crimp cavity/port — 8P for RJ45s, 6P for RJ12s and RJ11s.
2. Make sure the connector is fully seated into the crimp cavity/port and hold it in position until crimped.
3. Squeeze the handle all the way down until it bottoms out. Termination is complete.
