    Instruction sheet for Platinum Tools SealSmart Compression Connectors — color-coded F, RCA, and BNC coax compression connectors for RG59, RG6, and RG6 Quad Shield cable.

    Cable Preparation & Termination

    1. Connectors are color coded for cable type — see the chart below.
    2. Strip the cable to the dimensions shown on the chart. For best results, use stripper P/N 15030. Remove the cable jacket and dielectric.
    3. Fold the exposed braid back over the cable jacket, leaving the smooth foil attached to the dielectric.
    4. For Quad Shield cable: fold the outer braid back over the jacket, remove the outer foil, and fold the inner braid back over the jacket.
    5. Trim the center conductor to the proper length (see dimension "A" on the chart).
    6. Insert the cable into the rear of the connector. Insertion depth is shown on the chart (dimension "C"). For F connectors, the dielectric should be flush with the support mandrel face.
    7. Crimp until the compression ring is fully seated in the connector body.

    Tips & Tricks

    • The key to a good crimp is proper cable & connector preparation.
    • Measure insertion depth on the outside of the connector and use it as a gauge when inserting the cable into the connector.

Crimp height is adjustable for compatibility with most other compression-style connectors. Connector crimping adapters for F, RCA & BNC are included with the tool. Also crimps all right-angle compression connectors.
