    Specifications for the OPTEX OVS-01CC Vehicle Presence Sensor for Car Counting — a microwave sensor that reliably detects stationary or moving vehicles while ignoring most human traffic, eliminating the need for a ground loop.

    What It Does

    The OVS-01CC detects the presence of a vehicle and can be mounted 2 to 3 feet off the ground on a pole or post, detecting both small and large vehicles. It eliminates the hassle of installing a ground loop — no concrete cutting required.

    • Presence detection: Customizable detection area with 8 range settings, 5 sensitivity settings, and one-touch calibration.
    • Ignores human movement: 5 selectable menu settings to ignore human movement in car-counting applications, so the sensor only counts vehicles.
    • Adjustable microwave and ultrasonic detection patterns: Microwave detection is adjustable from 3 to 26 feet.
    • Easy, cost-effective installation: No need to stop traffic during installation. Mounts quickly and wires directly to the operator — no additional loop detector or special programmer required. A simple menu with visual indicators guides setup.
