Owner's manual for the On-Q/Legrand DA2131-V1 Outdoor 802.11n Wireless Access Point — a weatherproof, Power-over-Ethernet outdoor Wi-Fi extender for patios, pool areas, and other locations outside the home.

Overview

The DA2131-V1 extends home network wireless reach outdoors. It's rated for rigorous weather (heavy rain and wind), and its Power over Ethernet (PoE) design allows installation in areas without nearby power outlets. Built-in IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless supports data transfer speeds up to 150 Mbps with an 802.11n-compatible adapter. It supports AP/Client, WDS Bridge, and WDS Repeater modes.

Safety & Installation Precautions

• Professional installation required — seek assistance from a trained wireless data product installer familiar with local regulations.
• Do not use a metal ladder; do not work on a wet or windy day. Wear rubber-soled shoes, rubber gloves, and a long-sleeved shirt/jacket.
• Avoid standing directly in front of the unit while operational — strong RF fields are present when the transmitter is on.
• Use a proper, well-installed surge arrestor — lightning strike damage is not covered under warranty.
• Use only the power cord and PoE injector shipped with the unit — other options may cause damage.
• Power off the device before connecting any external antenna. Do not switch from internal to external antenna in the Web UI without physically attaching the external antenna first — this can damage the unit.
• Postpone installation if there's any risk of thunderstorm or lightning activity in the area.

Hardware Installation

1. Push the latch on the bottom of the DA2131-V1 to remove the sliding cover.
2. Plug an RJ-45 8P8C Ethernet cable into the LAN port of the DA2131-V1.
3. Slide the cover back to seal the bottom of the unit.
4. Connect the AC adapter's power cord to the PoE injector's DC port, and plug the other end of the Ethernet cable from Step 2 into the POE port of the injector. The injector's LAN jack connects to your LAN-side PC/hub/router/modem via a separate Cat 5 cable.
5. Complete cabling as shown in the manual's wiring diagram. Boot-up takes about 50 seconds — the Power LED activates first, then the WLAN activity LED flashes once the wireless interface is enabled.

Pole mounting: Turn the unit over, feed a mounting tie through the middle hole of the rear structure, and fasten both mounting ties tightly to secure the unit to the pole.

Tip: Consider installing a lightning arrestor between the N-WAP and the PoE injector to reduce lightning-strike risk.

LED Indicators

The PoE injector's reset button restores factory-default configuration when pressed and held for about 5-10 seconds.

Network Configuration (Web UI)

The DA2131-V1 is configured and monitored through a web browser. Key configuration areas covered in the full manual:
