NuVo NV-LSI24 Local Source Interrupt — Wiring Diagram Guide

Installation/wiring guide for the NuVo NV-LSI24 Local Source Interrupt (Mute Interface Module), used with the Grand Concerto and Essentia whole-home audio distribution systems. The LSI24 lets a local audio source (like a home theater receiver) share the same zone speakers as the NuVo distributed audio system, muting the NuVo feed whenever the local source is active.

What It Does

The NV-LSI24 sits between a NuVo amplifier's zone output and the zone speakers. When the local zone source is active, the LSI24 interrupts (mutes) the NuVo system's audio for that zone and passes through the local source's amplified signal instead. This lets a single set of speakers serve both the whole-home NuVo system and a local device (e.g. a home theater receiver) in the same room.

Grand Concerto System Wiring

1. The selected zone speaker output of the Grand Concerto amplifier wires directly to the LSI24.
2. Two-conductor speaker wire runs from the LSI24 to the zone speakers.
3. The Control Pad connection is made through the Accessory RJ45 port on the back of the Grand Concerto Control Pad, terminated with standard 568A wiring. At the LSI24 end, use the Brown lead for positive and the Brown/White-striped lead for negative.
4. Amplified signal from the local zone source (e.g. home theater receiver) feeds into the LSI24's "TO AMPLIFIER" input terminals.

Essentia E6G System Wiring

Wiring follows the same pattern as the Grand Concerto setup:

1. Speaker input from the Essentia amplifier (model NV-E6GM shown) feeds the LSI24.
2. Two/four-conductor speaker wire runs from the LSI24 out to the zone speakers.
3. The connection to the Essentia Control Pad uses the Accessory RJ45 port, terminated 568A — Brown lead = positive, Brown Stripe = negative, same convention as Grand Concerto.
4. Amplified signal from the local zone source connects to the LSI24's amplifier input terminals (L+/L−, R+/R−).

LSI24 Terminal Reference

• RLY+ / RLY−: Relay connection to the Control Pad (routes through Accessory RJ45 port)
• L− / L+ / R− / R+ (input side): "To Amplifier" — connects to the local source's amplified output
• L− / L+ / R− / R+ (output side): "To Speakers" — connects to the zone's physical speaker wiring
