    Setup Overview

We recommend mounting your Nucleus to a wall in areas like the kitchen, living room, or kids' room — or set it on your desk using the included desktop stand on any flat, stable surface. Power it with the included DC Power Adapter, or with Power over Ethernet (which both powers the device and connects it to the internet). You can connect through Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.

    Installation Guide — Wall Setup

    1. Position: Determine the best location for your Nucleus — avoid hot or cold places (radiators, A/C) and choose a flat wall surface. Mount it into a stud, positioned for a wide viewing angle of the room. Select the right screws for your mounting surface (see below).
    2. Level: Slide the wall mount bracket off the back of the unit, ensuring correct orientation. Attach the included snap-on level to confirm the bracket is straight, then trace the bracket's holes with a pencil to mark drilling points.
    3. Drill: Pre-drill three (3) holes using your drilling marks. Install wall anchors if needed. You can drill additional holes for any cords you plan to route behind the wall (e.g., an Ethernet cable).
    4. Screw Mount: Screw the mounting bracket to the wall, ensuring it's positioned with the correct side facing up. Confirm it's straight using the level, then snap off the level when complete.
    5. Power On Your Device: Plug in the DC power adapter, or plug a Power over Ethernet (POE) cable into the Ethernet port. If using DC power but also want an Ethernet cable for internet connectivity, plug that into the Ethernet port too. Note: this device cannot be powered through Micro USB.
    6. Attach Your Nucleus: Center the device a few inches above the wall mount and slowly slide it down until it latches onto the mount bracket.
    7. Attach Cord Clips: Find the cord clips in the "Here Are Your Assembly Parts" box. Pull the cord down straight, locate a good position, peel the adhesive backing, stick it to the wall, and attach the cord into the groove.
    8. Setup: Wait for the device to automatically download the most recent software, then follow the onscreen instructions to connect to your network and create your family account.

    Screw Selection Guide

    • Drywall, Wood, Vinyl — use the included wood screws and anchors.
    • Brick, Concrete, Stucco — use concrete screws (not included).
    • Tip: Use anchors if you're unable to find a wall stud to mount the device.

    Installation Guide — Desk Setup

    1. Power Your Device: Plug in the DC power adapter, or plug a POE cable into the Ethernet port. (This device cannot be powered through Micro USB.)
    2. Attach Desk Stand: Remove the wall mount by carefully sliding it off the slot, then attach the desk stand by sliding its short end into the back slot of the Nucleus device.
    3. Position: Choose a great spot for your device, away from direct sunlight, water, or extremely hot/cold locations. Ensure loose cables are secured and tucked away.
    4. Setup: Wait for the device to automatically download the most recent software, then follow the onscreen instructions to connect to your network and create your family account.

    Cable Management & Safety

Use the included cord clips to keep cables neat and tidy against the wall. Avoid placing the device where it can easily be knocked over. Keep loose cords away from children by securely tucking them away.
