Compatible control panels: GEM-P816, GEM-P1632, GEM-P1664, GEM-P3200, GEM-P9600, GEM-X255. A standard wired keypad must be installed and enrolled in the system before adding an IBR-TOUCH or IBR-TOUCH-WL touchscreen, and must remain available for arming/disarming in case the touchscreen is temporarily disabled during a firmware update. Visit napcosecurity.com for ordering info and approved Z-Wave devices.

DSC and Honeywell keypad skins are supported for use with IBR-TOUCH/IBR-TOUCH-WL only when used with a StarLink Connect communicator and with "Wi-Fi Only Mode" enabled in administrator settings. The hardwired IBR-TOUCH's 4-wire bus wires are for connection to NAPCO control panels only — do not connect them to a Honeywell or DSC panel bus. The StarLink Connect communicator requires a local CAT5 connection or a local Wi-Fi/tablet connection using an SLE-WIFI-MODULE.

    Selecting the Mounting Location

The touchscreen requires power from the control panel keypad bus (wires hidden within the mounting surface). Ensure system standby current is sufficient, or use a separate UL-Listed power-limited 12V supply per touchscreen. Mount indoors only; avoid high-condensation areas such as bathrooms, and avoid direct sunlight or bright light on the screen.

    Installation — Hollow Wall

Note the location of the four rear case mounting holes and the center hole for routing the keypad bus wires (wired model) or power wire (wireless model). Four slotted holes are also provided for mounting to a 2-gang box.

    1. Select a mounting location, preferably at eye level, that allows the power/keypad bus wires to be hidden within the mounting surface. Note the center hole location on the touchscreen rear.
    2. Place the Mounting Template on the surface and mark the four mounting holes and center hole. Use a level for horizontal mounting.
    3. Using a 3/16" bit, drill the four mounting holes. Insert wall anchors (part MX1327 #6, supplied) and tap in with a hammer.
    4. Drill the center hole for the power/keypad bus wires. Snake the keypad bus wires from the control panel (or power wire from a DC supply) through the mounting surface and out the center hole.
    5. Detach the rear case: insert a flat head screwdriver into the two slots at the bottom of the touchscreen, then push and turn to unhook the two plastic tabs.
    6. Insert the wires from the wall center hole through the rear case center hole. Insert screws through the four rear case mounting holes into the wall anchors using the supplied #6 sheet metal Phillips pan head 1" screws (part SC655).
    7. Connect the keypad bus wires to the terminal strip inside the touchscreen: red to +12V, black to -GND, yellow to YEL, green to GRN.
    8. Push wires into the center hole in the mounting surface. Place the top edge of the touchscreen over the two hooks in the rear case and push the bottom until it snaps into place.

Note: Changing the Keypad Address for a 4-Wire Bus Panel

If wiring to a 4-wire bus control panel, the IBR-ZREMOTE or StarLink Connect radio must be wired to the control panel bus with its own unique keypad address (factory set as #1, changeable). To change the address with a touchscreen, the IBR-TOUCH-WL model must be used (or an IBR-TOUCH running with "Connect using Wi-Fi Only" enabled), and it must be on the same network as the IBR-ZREMOTE/StarLink Connect radio. Attempting this on an IBR-TOUCH without "Connect using Wi-Fi Only" enabled will instead change the keypad address of the integral RCM module inside the IBR-TOUCH.

To change the keypad address: power the touchscreen, place the control panel into Configuration Mode, enter 11123 FUNCTION, press FUNCTION until "Keypad Address" appears, change the address number, then press ON/OFF to save. Return the panel to normal mode.

    Installation — 3-Gang Box

    1. Select a mounting location, preferably at eye level. Note the center hole for power/keypad bus wires on the touchscreen rear.
    2. With the 3-gang box installed, snake the keypad bus wires from the control panel (or power wires from the 12VDC adapter) into the box. Important: be careful not to drill into the wires inside the box.
    3. Place the Mounting Template over the 3-gang box and mark the four mounting holes.
    4. Detach the rear case: insert a flat head screwdriver into the two bottom slots, push and turn to unhook the two plastic tabs.
    5. Transfer the four marked hole locations to the touchscreen rear case.
    6. Using a 3/16" bit, drill the four mounting holes in the rear case.
    7. Insert the wires from the 3-gang box through the center hole of the rear case. Insert screws through the four rear case mounting holes into the box's mounting holes, using the supplied #6 sheet metal Phillips pan head 1" screws (part SC655).
    8. Connect the keypad bus wires to the terminal strip inside the touchscreen: red to +12V, black to -GND, yellow to YEL, green to GRN.
    9. Push wires from the center hole of the touchscreen into the 3-gang box. Place the top edge of the touchscreen over the two hooks in the rear case and push the bottom until it snaps into place.

    Wiring Configurations

Four wiring overview configurations are covered in the manual's diagrams:

    1. IBR-TOUCH only ("Keypad Only" mode): Standard keypad, control panel, and keypad bus wire directly to the IBR-TOUCH; the hardwired IBR-TOUCH includes Wi-Fi for wireless connection through the customer's network to a broadband modem. If system standby current is insufficient for the 380mA the IBR-TOUCH requires, use a separate UL-Listed power-limited 12V supply, ensuring negative terminals of the supply and control panel are connected. With the IBR-TOUCH-WL, use a StarLink Connect radio or an IBR-ZREMOTE instead.
    2. With the IBR-ZREMOTE: Adds an IBR-ZREMOTE module with CAT5 Ethernet connections — one to the touchscreen/cameras/Z-Wave devices side, one to the router — providing remote access via www.NapcoNOC2.com. A connection to the panel serial port is only needed for IBR-ZREMOTE CS communication or panel downloading.
    3. With a StarLink Connect Radio: Similar topology using a StarLink Connect radio, with remote access via www.NapcoNOC2.com. Requires a CAT5 connection to the customer's router or an SLE-WIFI-MOD for wireless connection. The optional IBR-WIFI-MOD Wireless Panel Interface can also be used. Connection to the panel serial port (via SLE-DLCBL) is only needed for panel downloading.
    4. With the ISEE-WAP: A wireless panel interface communicating between the Internet, the Gemini control panel (via the 4-wire keypad bus), the IBR-TOUCH tablet, and optional iSeeVideo wireless cameras. Use the ISEE-WAP only if remote services or Z-Wave are NOT required — with it, the customer can only control the alarm system or view video locally via an IBR-TOUCH tablet or the iBridge mobile app over the local iBridge Wi-Fi service. A remote-service subscriber account at www.ibridgeonline.com is NOT required for local-only control. For remote services with Z-Wave, use an IBR-ZREMOTE; for remote services without Z-Wave, use the iRemote-MOD module and access the keypad at www.myremotekeypad.com.

    Dealer & User Settings Menus

The "System Settings" gear-icon button shows either User Settings (single tap) or Dealer Settings (press and hold, password required — default password "admin"). For Z-Wave menu selections, see the "Using your iBridge® IBR-TOUCH Series Z-Wave Home Automation System" guide (OI394).

    Dealer Settings

    • Setup Wizard: Re-configures how the touchscreen will be used, Wi-Fi connection settings, and optionally NAPCO StarLink accounts. See the Quick Start Guide (WI2297).
    • Run Diagnostics: Tests components selected in the last Setup Wizard run; checkmarks indicate functional items, "x" indicates unconfigured/disabled items.
    • Security — EZ-ARM: Enables quick arming by tapping ENTER, ON/OFF, Night, Away, or Stay (disarming still requires a valid user code). Do not program in UL installations — the panel must support this feature.
    • Security — EASY EXIT: While armed in Interior Bypass/Stay Mode, press and hold the Disarm "pie wedge" to restart the exit delay and leave without disarming/rearming. Do not program in UL installations.
    • Number of Zone Areas: Sets the number of Areas (partitions) in the alarm system. Each Area can be controlled by its own touchscreen, or by another Area's touchscreen via Managers Mode (a low-security operating mode allowing arming by Area).
    • Connection Settings: Displays network communication and identification settings between the touchscreen and the router/IBR-ZREMOTE/StarLink radio, including Serial Interface status, IP Address, Port No., Autodiscovery Options, and status-check interval.
    • Connect using Wi-Fi Only: Converts an IBR-TOUCH "hardwired" touchscreen to behave as an IBR-TOUCH-WL "wireless" touchscreen; signals into the 4-wire bus terminals are ignored except for the power terminals.
    • Tablet Connection: Change/create a custom iBridge ISEE-WAP Wi-Fi Name and Key (ISEE-WAP and all wireless cameras must be unlocked first); configure, lock, or unlock wireless cameras; restart Wi-Fi; set minutes to check connection integrity (1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, or 20); set the BSSID used to lock down the iBridge connection.
    • Factory Default: Removes all user data and restores the touchscreen to out-of-box condition.
    • iBridge Updater: Shows the Update Server Address; Check for Updates checks for new firmware; Current Version shows firmware version; Update iBridge Application from USB (file in a "napco" folder, case sensitive, at the root of the drive); Update Logo (a "logo.png" file in a "dealerLogo" folder — actual image may be .png/.bmp/.jpeg but must be renamed "logo.png"); Update Infopage (a "dealer.png" file in the same folder); Update Android OS via USB (WinZip .zip at the root of the USB drive — do not remove the drive once the update starts).
    • Password Configuration: Changes the Dealer Settings menu password.

    User Settings

    • Setup Wizard (limited): Wi-Fi and iBridge credentials only — use Dealer Settings for full functionality.
    • Test Wi-Fi connection: Analyzes wireless signal strength between the touchscreen and router/ISEE-WAP. The Wi-Fi icon should be green for a strong signal; signal strength in dBm is also shown (higher/less-negative numbers are stronger — e.g., -20 is stronger than -30).
    • Clean Tablet Screen: Disables touchscreen inputs for a set time (entering "20" disables the keypad for 40 total seconds — 20 counting up, 20 counting down) so the screen can be safely wiped.
    • Change LED Level: Sliding bar to control brightness of the red/green LEDs on the tablet face.
    • Tablet Settings — Sound: Volumes for video, notifications, and alarms; touch sounds toggle.
    • Tablet Settings — Display: Brightness slider; Sleep idle-time before screen dims (15 sec, 30 sec, 1, 2, 10, 30 min, or never — touching the screen re-awakens it from sleep mode); Font size for menu text.
    • Date & Time: Automatic (retrieves from network, grays out manual fields); manual Set date/Set time; Select time zone; Use 24-hour format toggle.
    • About Tablet: Update OS via USB (WinZip .zip at USB root; allow up to 15 seconds to begin, do not remove the drive once started); Kernel version (NAPCO use only); Build Number (current firmware file name).
    • Reboot Tablet: Restarts the touchscreen (confirmation popup).
    • Enable KeySwitch Arming: Allows a zone input to arm/disarm the Area when momentarily shorted through a momentary switch. See Home > Set Keypad as the Only View.
