Installation manual for the Multiplex Technology C-BCK Cable Box Combiner Kit, used with ChannelPlus video distribution systems to combine a cable-company feed with a modulated signal (such as a DVD player or set-top box) onto a single coaxial run.

    Purpose

Use a C-BCK when your set-top box cannot tune to the ChannelPlus modulator channels. It combines the incoming cable signal with the output of a video distribution system that includes modulators, so both signals can share the same coax.

Note: The C-BCK will not work if your cable company has filled the entire TV spectrum up to CATV channel 125 — in that case there's no open channel left for the modulator's output.

    How It Works

    • The cable company feed enters the C-BCK's In connector.
    • The video distribution system (with modulators) feeds in as well, adding its modulated channel(s) — e.g., a DVD player on UHF channel 25 — to the combined signal.
    • The combined signal exits the C-BCK's Out connector and feeds the home's TV distribution.

Example usage: Set the modulator to UHF channel 25. Tune the TV to channel 3 (or the appropriate channel) to watch cable, selecting the actual channel using the set-top box as usual. Tune the TV to UHF 25 to watch the DVD player (or other modulated source) instead.
