Setup and monitoring instructions for MedReady MR-357 Cellular and MedReady 1750 landline automated medication dispensers.
Monitoring and setup instructions for MedReady automated medication dispensers — covering both the MR-357 Cellular (GSM) model and the MedReady 1750 Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) model.
The MR-357 uses Global System for Mobile (GSM) technology to send and receive medication compliance data. A SIM card is already installed; once activated, the unit connects to MedReady's servers automatically.
From that point on, changes made at the dispenser sync to the server, and changes made via www.medready.net push to the device. The first web update after a period of inactivity can take up to 60 seconds (a progress bar is shown) while the server wakes communication with the device; subsequent updates take about 5 seconds. After 20 minutes of inactivity, the server-to-device connection closes and the next update is again subject to the initial delay.
Login: use your Unit ID and Password at www.medready.net. If you don't have this information, contact your distributor or MedReady Customer Service at 310-328-7557 (have your Device Number ready).
The 1750 uses standard telephone service (POTS). Some VOIP connections work fine, but certain providers are incompatible and will prevent the device from communicating with MedReady's servers — the setup steps below reveal whether the phone system is compatible.
Under normal operation, the 1750 calls MedReady's 800 number when a medication alarm isn't cleared after 30 minutes (factory default), when power has been out 24 hours, or if the medication failed to rotate into position. The server alerts caregivers by text, email, and automated phone call (contacts set up via the website). The unit also calls in nightly with the past 24 hours of scheduled/taken dose pairings.
If the type 2 event does not appear, a communication error occurred. The MedReady will retry automatically in 13 minutes, or you can reset the process by removing both the battery and A/C adapter, reconnecting them, and repeating the AM/PM button step. If initialization repeatedly fails to log, the phone system is likely incompatible and an upgrade to the MR-357 GSM Cellular version is required.
The website for the 1750 has two sections: editing the contacts who get notified for a non-compliance event, and viewing the compliance log.
