Do not plug in the Cellular Gateway until after you've created an account on iMonnit.com and added your cellular gateway and wireless sensors to the account. Once plugged in and all three status lights turn green, the network is ready to bring sensors online.

Note: The gateway resets itself after receiving new configuration from the server — LED1 starts red and cycles until all 3 LEDs are green. During a software upgrade, LEDs scroll red; after a successful upgrade they flash green and the gateway restarts.
If the gateway powers up and lights don't turn green: wait a few minutes, then power-cycle the device. If it still doesn't connect, try a factory reset; if that fails, contact Monnit customer support.
The gateway collects data from all sensors in range and batch-delivers messages to the online system at a configurable heartbeat (default: every 60 minutes). Access settings via "View Gateways" in the Overview page, click the gateway, then the "Edit" tab.
Keep sensors at least 3ft. from the Ethernet Gateway. Peel back the battery slot's sticker cover and slide in the coin cell battery observing polarity — the sensor powers on within 10-20 seconds. Configuration changes made in the software are transmitted to the sensor on its next heartbeat; for an immediate update, power-cycle the sensor (remove and reinsert the battery).
Warning: sensors ship with a 10-minute heartbeat. Unless using the AA battery option, set the heartbeat to no faster than one hour to preserve battery life.
Manual Sensor Reset: use a paper clip to push the battery out through the small hole in the top of the sensor, change the heartbeat setting in the online system, then re-insert the battery.
Sensor status indicators: checking in within safe parameters, exceeded a threshold/triggered event, not checked in (inactivity alert sent), no readings since shipping, or inactive (no readings recorded).
Chart (graphical data view), Notifications, History (text data log), Export (.csv archive), Edit (settings), and Calibrate (available for select sensor types, e.g. temperature, for accuracy correction).
Click a sensor row to expand the details view, then the "Edit" tab to change primary configuration. Hover the question-mark icons for setting explanations. Click "Save" to apply — changes download to the sensor on its next heartbeat, and the configuration can't be re-edited until that download completes.
Four notification classes:
Each notification specifies People to Notify (auto-suggested from network users, or added via "Add Recipient"), Notification Parameters (name, custom message, trigger conditions), and Assigned Devices (which sensors trigger it — application-specific notifications only apply to matching sensor types).
Select a date range and scope (single sensor, network, or entire account) then click "Export Data" to download a .csv file (first 2,500 records in the range). Alternatively, use "Configure data push" to forward incoming sensor data to a third-party service in real time via an HTTP GET request with URL-encoded parameters.
For sensors that support it (e.g. temperature), the "Calibrate" tab lets you replace the last reading with a known-accurate value — all future readings are adjusted based on the new calibration.
The "Manage" page lets you edit network details, create new networks, add/remove devices, move devices between networks, and clear a sensor's history (irreversible — export first if you want a record).
