Inovonics EN1235DF/EN1235SF — Fixed Location Alarm Transmitter Instructions

Installation instructions for the Inovonics EchoStream® EN1235DF/EN1235SF Fixed Location Alarm Transmitter — a rugged, tamper-protected wireless button transmitter with configurable frequency band for North America, Australia, or New Zealand.

Overview

The Inovonics EN1235DF (double button) and EN1235SF (single button) fixed location alarm transmitters feature a rugged design and wall tamper protection, intended for fixed position signaling. For UL installations, refer to the EN4216MR, EN4232MR, or EN7285 documentation instead of this transmitter's manual directly for panel-specific requirements.

Install / Replace the Battery

1. Insert a small screwdriver into the notch on the bottom of the transmitter, press the housing release tab, and lever the housing apart without twisting.
2. Remove the old battery (if replacing) and install the new one.
3. Press the Reset button to initialize the transmitter.

Battery type: Panasonic CR2 or Sanyo CR2 (BAT608). Typical battery life: 3-5 years.

Select the Frequency Band

EchoStream products must be configured for your geographic area:

• North America: leave the jumper off the pins (902-928 MHz)
• Australia: place the jumper on the top two pins marked AU (915-928 MHz)
• New Zealand: place the jumper on the bottom two pins marked NZ (921-928 MHz)

Press the Reset button to complete configuration. Caution: don't touch the frequency band selection pins while pressing Reset — this can inadvertently set the wrong frequency band. Note: only North America-configured units are approved for UL installations.

Mount the Transmitter

The transmitter must be mounted to operate correctly — if not mounted, it will remain in a tamper state. For UL installations, mount in a concealed area not visible from public space.

1. Use the included hardware to mount the back plate to the mounting surface.
2. Hook the bottom of the transmitter into the back plate first, then clip the top into place — this order is required to ensure the tamper spring makes contact with the mounting surface through the slot in the back plate.

Register the Transmitter

The transmitter must be registered with the system to be monitored and supervised — once supervised, it sends a check-in message to the serial receiver/network coordinator every three minutes. Each transmitter has a unique factory-programmed ID.

1. When prompted by the receiver to reset the transmitter, press the Reset button.
2. Replace the cover.
3. Test the transmitter after registration by activating each condition and confirming an appropriate response.

Operate the Transmitter

Single-button transmitters: press the button for at least one second to activate. Double-button transmitters: press both buttons simultaneously. Alarm signals transmit multiple times, indicated by a blinking transmission LED; releasing the buttons sends an alarm restoral signal.

Complies with FCC Part 15 (Class B digital device) and Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standards. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Warranty

Inovonics warrants its products to conform to specifications and be free of material/workmanship defects under normal use for 24 months from date of manufacture. Warranty service requires a Return Material Authorization (RMA) obtained through your authorized distributor.
