Technical overview for the Monnit Wireless Open/Closed Sensor.
Technical overview for the Monnit Wireless Open/Closed Sensor — a magnetic switch sensor that detects when a door or window is opened or closed, reporting to the free iMonnit online monitoring system.
The Wireless Open/Closed Sensor uses an external magnetic switch to detect when a door or window is opened and closed. When the sensor detects that the magnet is removed or returned, it sends the information to the iMonnit Online Sensor Monitoring and Notification System, where data is stored and can be reviewed or exported as a data sheet or graph. Notifications can be set up to alert the user when the magnetic source is present or not — with the ability to notify only within specific times of day.
Sensors are powered by a replaceable 3.0V coin cell battery. Optional AA-battery-powered sensors are available in a larger housing (3" L x 2.1" W x 1.2" H) with two long-life AA batteries. Unless using the AA option, set the heartbeat to no faster than one hour to preserve battery life.
