    Technical overview for the Monnit Wireless Button Sensor — a battery-powered momentary push-button transmitter used for call/service requests, integrating with the iMonnit online sensor monitoring platform.

    General Description

    The Wireless Button Sensor detects when the button has been pressed, triggering an instant notification from the system via SMS text or email through the free iMonnit basic online wireless sensor monitoring and notification service. All button presses are logged and can be reviewed or exported as a data sheet or graph.

    Principle of Operation

    When pressed, the sensor sends a signal to the iMonnit Online Sensor Monitoring and Notification System, which fires notifications and tracks the event data. Notifications can be configured to alert immediately, and can be restricted to specific time-of-day windows.

    Power Options

    Standard sensors are powered by a replaceable 3.0V coin cell battery. An optional AA battery-powered version is also available, larger in size (3" L x 2.1" W x 1.2" H) with two long-life AA batteries. Unless using the AA version, set the heartbeat interval to no faster than one hour to preserve battery life.

    Caution / Notice

    This product is designed for use in an ordinary environment (normal room temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure). Avoid using this sensor under the following conditions, which can deteriorate product characteristics and cause failure or burn-out:

    • Corrosive or deoxidizing gas (chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, sulfuric acid, nitric oxides, etc.)
    • Volatile or flammable gas
    • Dusty conditions
    • Low or high pressure
    • Wet or excessively humid locations
    • Salt water, oils, chemical liquids, or organic solvents
    • Excessively strong vibrations
    • Other similarly hazardous environments

    Use within the specified temperature range — higher temperatures may degrade material or performance characteristics. At temperatures above 100°C, the board circuitry risks losing programmed memory.
