Quick install guide for the Luxul XGS-1005 5-Port Gigabit Switch.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Quick install guide for the Luxul XGS-1005, a 5-port unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for simply-connected AV/smart home network deployments.

    Package Contents

    • XGS-1005 5-Port Gigabit Switch
    • Power Adapter

    1. Physical Installation

Install the XGS-1005 in a stable, safe location away from direct sunlight and heavy objects. Ensure adequate space around the switch for proper heat dissipation and ventilation.

    2. Connecting Power

Connect the included AC power adapter to a power outlet near the switch, then connect the power adapter plug to the switch's power connector.

Caution: Use only the included power supply. A different power supply could damage the XGS-1005.

    3. Connecting Ethernet

Use standard Ethernet cable to connect the XGS-1005 to Ethernet devices. Luxul recommends Category-5, super Category-5, or Category-6 unshielded twisted pair (CAT5/CAT5e/CAT6 UTP). For best performance and stable data transmission at 1000 Mbps, use Category-6 shielded twisted pair.

For best performance and to maximize available ports, connect LAN devices to the XGS-1005 first, then connect the switch to a router LAN port or another switch.

When a device is properly connected, the Link/Activity LED for that port lights up green.

    4. Hardware Description

The front panel of the XGS-1005 includes five Link/Activity LEDs and one Power LED, showing the operating status of the switch and each connection.

    5. LED Indicators

    LED Color Status Description
Power Green On The switch is powered
Power Off The switch is unpowered — check the DC power supply connection to the outlet and switch
Link/Activity Green On The switch is connected to an Ethernet device
Link/Activity Green Blinking The switch is transmitting/receiving data packets
Link/Activity Off Port is not connected to an Ethernet device
