    Full text manual (for reference)

Quick Installation Guide for the Luxul AP-3064 Wi-Fi 6 AX3600 Dual-Band 4x4 Indoor Access Point — covers physical features, mounting options, PoE+ wiring, and initial admin configuration.

    What's Included

    • AP-3064 Wi-Fi 6 AX3600 dual-band 4x4 indoor access point
    • Mounting bracket
    • Hardware for drywall installation
    • T-rail mounting kit for suspended tile ceiling installation

    Physical Features

    • Status LED (front): shows power status and operating state.
    • LAN PoE+ port (back): connects to a PoE+ power injector's data/power out port, or to a powered port on a PoE+ switch.
    • Reset button (back): press momentarily to reboot; press and hold several seconds to restore factory defaults.
    • Information label (back): shows the default DHCP failover IP address, admin password, and Wi-Fi passphrase.

    Placement

The access point's signal is omnidirectional. For a single AP, place it as close as possible to the center of the coverage area. For multiple APs, space them so client devices see a good connection to the nearest AP and can also see the next-closest one — aim for -60 to -70 dBm signal strength at the midway point between overlapping APs. Pro tip: use a Wi-Fi signal analyzer app to do a site survey rather than guessing.

    Mounting

    Flat Surface

Slide the mounting bracket onto the back of the access point.

    Wall or Hard Ceiling

    1. Route the network cable.
    2. Attach the mounting bracket to an existing 2-gang electrical box with the supplied screws, or mount directly using the included drywall anchors and #6 x 1 in. screws.
    3. Connect the cable to the access point.
    4. Slide the access point onto the mounting bracket.

    Suspended Tile Ceiling

Note: All above-ceiling work must conform to local building codes and should be performed by qualified personnel.

    1. Route the network cable.
    2. Select the two mounting clips that fit the ceiling tile rails.
    3. Optional: place extenders between the clips and the back plate.
    4. Attach the two clips (and extenders, if used) to the access point with the appropriate screws.
    5. Connect the cable to the access point.
    6. Snap the access point onto the ceiling tile rail.

    PoE+ Wiring

Connect the access point to a PoE+ switch or PoE+ power injector connected to the network. Luxul recommends at least Cat-5e UTP cabling; use Cat6 UTP for best performance at 1000 Mbps.

Note: PoE-type connections are for use only within a single building — do not connect PoE powered equipment to lines that run outside the building.

If using a PoE+ power injector:

    1. Connect the Data In port to an Ethernet cable from your router or switch.
    2. Connect the Data & PWR Out port to the Ethernet cable that connects to the access point.
    3. Connect the injector's power cord to the power connector, then to the AC outlet.

    Configuring the Access Point

Before use, you'll need to: open the admin interface, configure the SSID and preshared key, optionally assign a new hostname, and check for firmware updates.

    Discovering the IP Address

On a DHCP network, the AP receives an IP address automatically. On a static network, check the device label for the DHCP Failover IP address (the default if it doesn't auto-receive one) — if you have only one AP and use static addresses in the 192.168.0.x range, no change is needed. Otherwise, find the IP in your router's client list (on a Luxul router: Status > Connected Clients); Luxul default hostnames follow the pattern AP-3064-xxxxxx (model + last three MAC octets).

    Accessing the Admin Interface

    1. In a web browser, go to the device's IP address.
    2. If not yet in service, log in as admin / admin — you'll be required to change the password (only needed the first time, or after a factory reset).
    3. If already in service, log in as admin with the current password.

Note: Always click Save before leaving a page, then Continue for more changes or Apply to commit. Applying changes reboots the device (unavailable for about 60 seconds).

    Configuring Wireless Settings

The Quick Setup page lets you configure a 2.4 GHz and a 5 GHz network — useful for keeping smart home devices on their own network, or setting up a separate guest network.

    • SSID1: the Wi-Fi network name. If running both bands, name them distinctly. Give every AP on a given network the same SSID and preshared key so devices roam automatically to the strongest signal.
    • Preshared Key: the network passphrase — keep it identical across all APs on that network.

In most cases the remaining settings can stay at defaults; refer to in-app help text for guidance.

    Hostname

If running multiple APs, give each a distinct, identifiable hostname (e.g., AP3064-kitchen) — every device on the network needs a unique hostname, just like a unique IP address. Set this on the Quick Setup page.

    Updating Firmware

    1. Go to Advanced > Update Firmware in the admin interface.
    2. Select the firmware location — "Auto" (compares current vs. latest available) is normally preferred, or download to your PC from legrandav.com/resources/firmware-updates/luxul-firmware and select "a file on your PC."
    3. If Auto, select the Release firmware repository (unless directed otherwise by Luxul staff), then click Check.
    4. If a newer server version is shown, click Install. The AP updates firmware and reboots; connectivity is unavailable during the update, and devices reconnect automatically afterward.

    Status LED Reference

    Color Behavior Meaning
Off No power to the access point.
    Green Blinking Booting.
Green On Normal operation, connected to internet.
Amber On Factory default state — set the password to provision for service.
Red Blinking Reset button held long enough to start a factory-default reset.

    Quick Reference: Common Tasks

    • Access advanced settings: browse to the device's IP address and log in as admin.
    • Restart: press the recessed Reset button briefly with a small object.
    • Restore factory defaults: press and hold Reset for about 5 seconds, until the light flashes red.
    • Find serial number/MAC: scan the QR code on the device label.
