    Minimum network requirements checklist for Lithe Audio Wi-Fi and Pro Series ceiling speakers — what you need for reliable powering, internet speed, router setup, and Wi-Fi coverage.

    Powering

    The speaker is supplied with a 100-240V AC adaptor, which can be powered by connecting to:

    • An existing lighting circuit using a fused spur (with 3A fuse) or dedicated supply.
    • A standard plug socket.
    • PoE++ (Pro Series only) — power directly from a PoE 60W injector (PoE add-on required). Standard: IEEE 802.3bt, delivering up to 60W of power to each speaker.

    Internet Speed

    • Recommended minimum requirement: 1.5 Mbps per speaker.
    • Music streaming services typically require 0.32–0.64 Mbps per speaker.

    Router Requirements

    • Standard ISP-issued routers are fine for low-traffic setups with fewer than 10 devices total (phones, laptops, TVs, tablets, etc. included).
    • If you have more than 6 master speakers working in one location, a standard home router may cause disruption (drop-outs, performance issues). Consider a router with more processing/CPU power and the ability to handle more simultaneous devices (e.g. Draytek, Asus).
    • Common checks: make sure UPNP is turned ON and WMM is turned OFF. On Wi-Fi V1 speakers, the 5GHz channel should be turned OFF. On V2, Subwoofer, or Pro speakers, all speakers use dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz).
    • As with general Wi-Fi best practice, power off your router every 3 months to clear its cache, which can improve performance.

    Wi-Fi Boosters

    • Required if the coverage area has Wi-Fi dead zones. A simple, cost-effective plug-in solution to boost signal beyond just a router.
    • For a booster to work with the speaker, it must be on the same network as the speaker.
    • Boosters typically rebroadcast at about half the strength of your main router's Wi-Fi signal.

    Access Points

    • Recommended for full Wi-Fi coverage, especially in large homes, to extend range into Wi-Fi dead zones.
    • All speakers must be connected on the same Wi-Fi SSID and frequency band to work together, along with the device playing music.

    Typical Causes of Wi-Fi Router Problems

    • Signal congestion — limited router bandwidth pushing data to devices.
    • Interference — concrete walls, metal beams, other nearby equipment.
    • Network overload — too many devices on the network.
    • Router location — e.g. sitting on the floor next to power cables.
    • Hardware/firmware limitations, including out-of-date firmware.
    • Physical size of the home creating Wi-Fi dead spots.
