    Important Safety Warnings

    • Before commencing any electrical work, ensure the supply is switched OFF at the mains (via the consumer unit or by removing the appropriate fuse).
    • Install in accordance with relevant building regulations and the latest edition of IEE regulations (BS 7671).
    • Do not use the product submerged in water.
    • Protect the power cable from damage; do not over-stretch it.
    • Only use attachments/accessories specified by Lithe Audio.
    • Turn off power to the speaker when unused for long periods.
    • Do not open the back cover of the speaker — doing so voids the warranty and could cause electric shock.
    • The transformer connects to mains (230V, 50Hz) and is suitable for outdoor and indoor use (IP68 rated).
    • If the external wiring of the transformer is damaged, the transformer must be destroyed and not used.
    • Do not plug the transformer into the wall socket until the complete set has been installed.
    • Failure to follow the instructions in this guide voids all warranties.

    Installation

Important: Always place this product so it can still be accessed for servicing or maintenance. It must never be permanently embedded or bricked in.

    1. Plan the best position for the speaker in your garden layout. Lay the cables on the ground and place the speaker where it will be positioned, ensuring enough slack for burying the cable.
    2. Using a small spade, dig a shallow trench (approx. 10cm deep) away from any areas you may dig up in the future. Lay the low voltage cable in the trench, checking it is not damaged, then cover with soil or garden media.
    3. Position the transformer above the damp course level and use the 4 screw holes to fix it in place.
    4. Check all cables and connectors are secured, then plug the speaker into an outdoor plug socket (we recommend one with a built-in RCD) — then turn off the power until ready.

We recommend an outdoor plug socket with a built-in RCD. The speaker and transformer are designed to be installed and left outside, but can also be plugged into an indoor socket if only used while entertaining. When leaving the transformer outdoors (housed or not), make sure it's lifted well off the ground (above the damp course level) to avoid flooding or snow, and use common sense near water-bearing fittings like down pipes, leaking gutters, or ponds.

    Setup and Pairing (Bluetooth)

Ensure the Bluetooth Garden Speaker is connected to the power supply and turned on. You'll hear 3 beeps once the speaker has powered up and is ready to pair.

    1. Open the settings menu on your device and select Bluetooth.
    2. Turn on Bluetooth and search for devices.
    3. Select "Lithe Audio GS" and, if prompted, enter the PIN and tap Pair.
    4. The Lithe Audio Bluetooth speaker is now connected to your device, ready to play music.

    Connecting Additional Devices

    • First connection: If Device A connects and controls the speaker, Device B cannot search or control it until Device A disconnects.
    • Second connection: Once Device A disconnects, Device B can connect and take control.
    • Additional devices: A maximum of 2 devices can be connected at any one time; only the first device to connect controls the speaker. Disconnect Device A or B before connecting additional devices.

If your connection to the speaker is lost, the device may be out of Bluetooth range (greater than 10m). To reconnect, go to the Bluetooth settings menu on your device and reconnect to the Lithe Audio speaker.

Adding an Additional Passive Speaker (Optional)

Note: The LGS1 does not include a passive speaker. The Bluetooth Garden Speaker can connect to and power an additional passive speaker via the speaker output (+/-). Use wire cutters to strip the ends of the speaker cable if required, and insert into the cable connector attached to the master speaker.

Fitting instructions: Loosen the end caps, insert the cable into the connector block, and tighten the end caps back to the center. Check the connector is tight and sealed.

    Troubleshooting

    Issue Solution
Speaker has not been found during setup Check the power cord is correctly connected to the speaker and transformer. Ensure the supply is switched OFF at the mains before any electrical work.
Speaker has failed to connect to Bluetooth Retry the setup and pairing process. Ensure any password is entered correctly and the device is within 10m range. If this doesn't work, power down the speaker, wait 20 seconds, then power up and try again.
Device connected to Bluetooth but no sound Ensure your device volume is not muted, increase the volume, or try another audio source.
