Linear SHA24709 Dual-Code Transmitter — Security Code Setup Instructions

Coding instructions for the Linear SHA24709 transmitter — a dual-code remote for setting your own security code on Stanley garage door openers and gate operators.

Overview

This transmitter has two sets of ten-position code switches, letting it control two different garage door openers (or a garage door opener and a gate operator) from a single remote. It works with Stanley openers using either five code wires or 9/10-position coding switches, and can be used with Stanley Gate Operators using radio receivers on a 310 MHz frequency with up to 1,024 digital codes.

Setting Your Code

First decide which button you want to use for each garage door opener. The set of code switches located below that button should be coded to match the selected opener.

1. Open the transmitter: insert a small coin into the slot on the bottom side and twist to separate the two halves.
2. Locate the coding switches or wires on the back of the door opener's powerhead for each button you're programming.

For 9- or 10-Position "Switch" Receivers

Match each transmitter switch to the corresponding powerhead switch position. Example: if switch #3 is open/off on the powerhead, set the transmitter's #3 to open/off too; if #4 is closed/on, match it. If the powerhead has only nine switches, set the transmitter's tenth switch to open/off.

For "Clip Wire" Receivers

Determine which coding wires have been clipped on the opener. Where a wire is cut, move the corresponding transmitter switch to open/off; with no wires cut, set all even-numbered switches closed/on and all odd-numbered switches open/off.

Indicator Light

Shows battery strength. If the light doesn't illuminate when the button is pressed, check for a dead battery.

Sun-Visor Clip

Slide the clip into the channel on the back of the transmitter until the knob on the transmitter fits into the hole in the clip.

Compatibility

Works the open/close feature on all Stanley Digital Door Openers and Radio Receivers manufactured since April 1982 that use switches or clip wires for coding. Also compatible with Stanley Gate Operators containing 310 MHz radio receivers supporting up to 1,024 digital codes.

Safety Warning

Always keep the garage door in sight while operating the opener. Keep the transmitter out of reach of children.
