Instructions for setting a custom security code on the Linear SHA24708 transmitter for Stanley garage door openers.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Coding instructions for the Linear SHA24708 transmitter — used to set your own security code for Stanley garage door openers.

    Overview

This transmitter allows the installer or user to program a custom security code matching the coding switches or wires on a Stanley garage door opener powerhead. Works with all Stanley Digital Door Openers and Radio Receivers manufactured since April 1982 that use either rocker switches or clip wires for coding.

    How to Set Your Code

    1. Open the transmitter by inserting a small coin into the slot on top and twisting — the two halves will separate.
    2. Locate the coding switches or wires on the back of the door opener's powerhead.

For 9- or 10-Position "Switch" Receivers

Match the position of each transmitter switch to the corresponding powerhead switch location. Example: if switch #3 is toward open/off on the powerhead, set the transmitter's switch #3 to open/off as well; if #4 is closed/on, set the transmitter's #4 to closed/on, and so on. If the powerhead has only nine switches, place the transmitter's tenth switch in the open/off position.

    For "Clip Wire" Receivers

Determine which coding wires, if any, have been clipped on the opener. When a coding wire is cut, move the corresponding transmitter switch to open/off. With no wires cut, set all even-numbered transmitter switches to closed/on and all odd-numbered switches to open/off.

    Indicator Light

Shows battery strength. If the light doesn't come on when the transmitter button is pressed, check for a dead battery.

    Fastener Strips

Remove the backing from both adhesive strips. Mount one strip at a convenient location and the other to the back of the transmitter for attachment.

    Compatibility Note

This transmitter will not work with the Model 332.2014 Radio Receiver that uses the 331.1005, 331.1006, 331.1007, or 331.1087 transmitter.

    Safety Warning

Always keep the garage door in sight while operating the opener. Keep the transmitter out of reach of children.
