Installation and operation instructions for the Linear DXS-LRP Supervised Long Range Pendant Transmitter — a battery-powered emergency call button designed for use with Linear's DX and DXS format receivers.

Product Description

The DXS-LRP is a miniature, water-resistant, supervised transmitter for emergency applications. It's supplied with a nylon pendant necklace with a breakaway feature for safety. The pendant is designed to be worn with the button toward the chest for easy thumb-press activation while remaining discreet.

Pressing the button for a minimum of two seconds sends a complete digitally-coded wireless signal to its companion receiver. The transmitter is factory-coded — no field coding is required. Each activation can send a signal for up to 30 seconds. The signal indicator LED lights green when activated normally.

Status Supervision

If status transmissions are enabled, the transmitter sends a status signal every two hours (some receivers can monitor these, others cannot). Every two hours it also tests its own battery. If the battery tests low, a low battery signal is sent, and the signal indicator will light red if the transmitter is activated while the battery is low.

To enable the two-hour status timer, press the transmitter button five times in succession within 3-4 seconds. When status reporting is on, the LED will blink three times after activation.

Installer Programming

Program the transmitter into the receiver by placing the receiver into program mode, then sending a signal from the transmitter. Refer to the UL-listed PERS-2400B or PERS-3600B receiver's programming instructions for details.

System Testing

Test emergency equipment weekly. Place the receiver in "TEST" mode and activate the transmitter. Verify that the signal was received and that the system reports as required. Regular testing over time is essential — no electronic product is better than the inspection and maintenance it receives.

Notes

• Each transmitter is sealed for water resistance (not UL tested for water resistance), and the battery is not replaceable — discard the unit at end of battery life.
• FCC Part 15 device: limited transmitter power and range apply. A receiver cannot respond to more than one transmitted signal at a time and may be blocked by nearby radio signals regardless of code settings.
• Changes or modifications to the device may void FCC compliance.

Warranty

Linear warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship for 24 months from original purchase through Linear's normal distribution channels (wholesale customers only — consumers should check with their selling dealer). Returns require a Return Product Authorization Number (RPA#) from Linear Technical Services at 1-800-421-1587.
