  • LifeSource / A&D Medical Easy-Fit Blood Pressure Cuff — Instruction Guide

    September 08, 2026 2 min read

Trilingual instruction guide for the LifeSource / A&D Medical Easy-Fit and Optimized Cuff line of replacement blood pressure monitor cuffs.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Instruction guide for the LifeSource/A&D Medical Easy-Fit™ and Optimized Cuff line of replacement cuffs for digital blood pressure monitors (English instructions; French and Spanish sections also included in the original PDF).

    Overview

This cuff was designed for use with LifeSource and A&D Medical Blood Pressure Monitors. Using the correctly sized cuff is important for an accurate reading — an oversized cuff produces artificially low readings, while an undersized cuff produces artificially high readings.

    Selecting the Correct Cuff Size

With your arm hanging at your side, measure the circumference of your upper arm at the midpoint between shoulder and elbow:

Arm Size Recommended Cuff Replacement Model #
    6.3–9.4" (16–24 cm) Small Cuff UA-279
    9.4–14.2" (24–36 cm) Medium Cuff UA-280
    9–17" (23–43 cm) Easy-Fit™ Cuff UA-380
    14.2–17.7" (36–45 cm) Large Cuff UA-281

Most cuffs have an Index Mark indicator — after placing the cuff on your arm, if the Index Mark points within the Proper Fit Range, you have the correct size. If it points outside that range, contact A&D Medical at 1-888-726-9966 (Canada: 1-800-461-0991) for a replacement.

Before You Start — Air Connector Plugs

Most models require an air connector plug to attach the cuff tube to the monitor:

    Model Connector
    UA-704, UA-705 T-Connector
All other models L-Connector (either connector can be used)
    UA-787EJ, UA-853AC, UA-789AC No connector required

    Connecting Your Cuff

    1. Insert the cuff-tube end of the air connector plug into the cuff tube.
    2. Insert the monitor end of the air connector plug into the digital blood pressure monitor's air socket — you'll hear it snap into place.
    3. For UA-704/UA-705 models, insert the bulb-tube end of the air connector plug into the bulb tube instead (the bulb and cuff tube ends of the T-Connector are interchangeable).

Refer to the instruction manual included with your monitor for full operation details.

    Placing Your Cuff on Properly

    • Relax for 5–10 minutes before measurement.
    • Remove constricting clothing and place the cuff on a bare arm.
    • Unless your physician recommends otherwise, use the left arm to measure pressure.
    1. Sit comfortably with your left arm resting on a flat surface so the center of your upper arm is level with your heart.
    2. Lay your left arm on the table, palm up. For cuffs with a metal D-Ring, thread the cuff end through the metal loop (smooth side against arm), positioning the tube off-center toward the inner arm, in line with the little finger.
    3. Fasten the cuff securely — snug but not too tight. You should be able to insert two fingers between the cuff and your arm. (For D-Ring cuffs, pull the end to tighten and fold back the extra material.)
    4. Refer to your monitor's instruction manual for operating instructions.
