Overview

The TC-ALTv2 provides automated on/off and variable speed control based on temperature, plus a fixed-setpoint alarm. It offers three selectable modes with different on/off setpoints:

• Mode 1 — 80°F/27°C "On" setpoint: best for equipment room or closet applications.
• Mode 2 — 90°F/32°C "On" setpoint: designed for cabinet, rack, and enclosure applications.
• Mode 3 — 100°F/38°C "On" setpoint: also for cabinet/rack/enclosure applications, but with a higher setpoint for situations where the sensor must sit close to components, or where a higher trigger temperature is simply desired. Ideal for two-stage cooling setups (one controller on Mode 2, another on Mode 3).

For each mode, the fan(s) turn on at 50% speed and increase in a linear progression to full speed at ~10°F above the "On" setpoint. As the system cools, the fan(s) slow down and ultimately turn off ~3°F/2°C below the "On" setpoint. The alarm is fixed at 115°F/41°C.

Because the unit uses a remote sensor, it can be mounted almost anywhere — including extending the sensor to control remotely-mounted fans in projector enclosures, ventilation applications, etc.
