    Installation instructions for Leviton's System Matching Module with Auto Surge (Cat. No. SGAMP) — used to distribute a single stereo amplifier or receiver output to multiple room speaker zones.

    Warnings

    • To be installed and/or used in accordance with appropriate electrical codes and regulations.
    • Maximum continuous amplifier power is 150 Watts per channel. Higher continuous amplifier power may cause damage.
    • Speaker wire runs situated inside a wall need to be fire-rated. When in doubt, consult your local electrical inspector for correct wire ratings.

    Wiring and Operation

    1. Remove the screw terminals from the System Matching Module (pull the screw terminal blocks from the mounting pins).
    2. Wire both (left and right) amplifier or stereo receiver speaker outputs to the four-position screw terminal, carefully observing polarity.
    3. Firmly screw the wires in place, making sure any loose wire strands are removed. Push the connector with the amplifier wires onto the terminal marked "To Amp."
    4. Connect speakers or volume controls to the remaining 4-position screw terminal blocks, carefully observing polarity. Firmly screw the wires in place and push the remaining connectors onto the board marked "Room 1," "Room 2," etc.

    Note: Independent volume controls for each room are not required, but if used, they provide individual volume level control per room. Be careful that multiple volume controls connected to the module do not overload the stereo amplifier or receiver — check the volume control's instructions for the maximum number of controls that can be connected.

    Note: To install the module into a Leviton Structured Media Center®, use the Push-Lock Pins to firmly snap the metal bracket onto the enclosure.

    Wiring Diagram Overview

    The amplifier's left and right speaker outputs feed into the System Matching Module, which distributes to multiple room zones — each zone terminal pair (labeled Room 1, Room 2, etc.) drives a left/right speaker pair for that room.
