    Installation and configuration guide for the Leviton® Door Station (Cat. No. INDS1-00S) — a PoE (Power over Ethernet) intercom door station with camera that allows streaming audio/video communication with other SIP-compliant devices, such as Leviton OmniTouch 7™ touchscreens. It features a configurable relay that can control a gate or electric lock.

    Wiring Requirements

    The INDS1-00S is an IEEE 802.3af-compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) Powered Device (PD). It receives power over the same cable that connects it to the network, via Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) such as a PoE network switch, hub, or power injector. Each INDS1-00S must be installed within 100 meters (328 feet) of a PSE device.

    The INDS1-00S connects to a DHCP-enabled network using a Cat-5 (4-pair) cable, terminated at both ends with 8-position modular connectors as a standard straight-through network patch cable.

    When switching voltage through the relay, run a separate power cable from a power supply to the INDS1-00S and a control cable from the relay to an electric lock or gate controller.

    Installation

    The door station is designed to be installed into the provided metal backbox. Avoid mounting locations where studs, plumbing, or electrical wiring may be behind the wall. Mount so the display is at or slightly below eye level. Route the network cable, optional power cable, and optional control cable through the desired knockout opening (bottom, back, or lower right/left side of the metal backbox). Mount the metal backbox flush with (or slightly behind) the wall opening surface, with the arrow facing up.

    1. Screw the 3 supplied studs into the 3 respective standoffs on the metal backbox.
    2. Place the plastic backbox into the metal backbox so the back of the plastic backbox sits flush against the metal backbox.
    3. Screw the 3 supplied nuts onto the 3 respective studs. If the metal backbox is flush with the wall opening, screw the nuts until they touch the standoffs. If slightly behind, screw the nuts so they're slightly suspended on the stud (adjust for proper fit).
    4. Insert the 8-position modular connector of the network cable into the RJ-45 connector on the door station, through the cutout in the plastic backbox.
    5. If used, connect the controlled device and/or power supply to the relay outputs marked R-NO/R-NC and R-COM.
    6. Place the door station on top of the metal backbox. While holding it in place, screw the 4 supplied screws into the openings on the top and bottom of the door station, making sure they attach into the slots on the plastic backbox. Gently tighten — do not overtighten.
    7. Insert the top and bottom overlays into the respective mounting holes until they snap in place.

    Obtaining the IP Address

    By default, the Leviton Door Station obtains an IP address from the DHCP server on the local network. Discover it using Leviton PC Access Software (v3.16+):

    1. Under Extended Setup, click SIP Stations.
    2. Add a SIP Station by clicking the green plus icon on the toolbar.
    3. With Leviton selected in the Station Type drop-down, click Discover. The Discover Leviton Door Stations dialog will show any discovered devices.
    4. Highlight the desired door station and press OK to add it to Extended Setup.
    5. Note the IP Address of the SIP Station.

    Configuring the Door Station (Web Interface)

    Access the built-in web interface by typing the door station's IP address into a browser (e.g. http://10.0.0.196). Default credentials: User name: admin, Password: admin.

    1. Network settings: Network → Network. Recommended: select Static and enter the static IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, Primary DNS, and Secondary DNS.
    2. SIP settings: Phone → SIP. Enter SIP Proxy/P2P Bridge IP, SIP Service Domain IP, Display Name (matching the SIP Station Name in PC Access), Phone Number (SIP Username assigned in the SIP server), and Password.
    3. Outgoing call settings: Phone → Outgoing Call. Enter the Direct Dial # (the Ring Group Extension or direct SIP User called when the door station's call button is pressed).
    4. User management: System → User Management. Change the Administrator username/password, and optionally add up to 3 additional user accounts (username + password each).
    5. Audio levels: System → Digital Control. Set Mic Volume and Speaker Volume (Min, Low, Normal, Max).
    6. Time settings: System → Time. Select the local Time Zone, set Date/Time, and enable/disable NTP Server sync (default: On, using "time.nist.gov"; default SYNC Interval: 604800 seconds / 7 days).
    7. Firmware update: System → Upgrade. Browse to the firmware file obtained from Leviton and click Upgrade next to Image File. The door station reboots automatically when done.
    8. Backup/restore configuration: System → Configuration. Click Backup, then download as CONF or XML file. To restore, browse to the backup file and click Upload.

    Reboot / Factory Reset

    Under System → Reboot/Reset: click Submit next to Reboot to restart the door station (it's back up when it plays the System Ready tones), or click Submit next to "Reset to factory default" (confirm in the dialog) to restore factory settings. After a factory reset, use Leviton PC Access software again to obtain the door station's IP address.

    Completing Configuration in Leviton PC Access Software

    Under Extended Setup → SIP Stations, for each door station entry configure:

    • SIP Station Name — matches the door station's Display Name
    • Address — the door station's IP address
    • SIP User — the Phone Number assigned to the door station
    • Activate Switch — 1 to show, 0 to hide the Activate button on the OmniTouch 7 during a call
    • Activate Seconds — 1–60 seconds the relay stays engaged when Activate is pressed
    • Connection User / Connection Password — the Administrator or an Account username/password, required to activate the relay or view the camera

    After configuration, connect to the controller, go to Communications → Write to Controller, check only the Extended Setup checkbox, and click OK. Reboot all connected OmniTouch 7 touchscreens afterward.

    Using the Intercom

    Calling the door station from an OmniTouch 7: Press the Intercom icon on the menu bar, select the door station's name from the left pane — the call connects immediately with streaming video and two-way audio. Press Activate to trigger the relay; press End Call to hang up.

    Calling an OmniTouch 7 from the door station: Press the capacitive touch call button (bell icon) — the LED illuminates white and the touchscreen(s) ring, showing the calling door station's name. Press Dismiss to reject, or Answer to accept (enabling streaming video and two-way audio). Press Activate to trigger the relay; press End Call to hang up.
