Overview

The HLC Keypad Room Controller, available in white or light almond, is designed as a room or house controller for the HLC product line, including dimmers, switches, plug-in modules, and hard-wired load controls. As a room controller, default scenes are pre-programmed: Scene A provides 80% illumination, B represents 60%, C represents 40%, D represents 20%, along with on/off buttons to turn the room on or off. When the room is on, holding the on/off buttons brightens or dims the entire room.

Homeowners can adjust dimmers and switches to a custom look and press the scene button five times to save that custom scene. When paired with an Omni family controller and PC Access software, scene buttons can be programmed for custom scenes tied to activities like homework, movie time, or dinner prep.

This device can also function as a six-room house status switch if set up on the eighth address in a room — in that configuration, the top/on button controls the first room in the group, the bottom/off button controls the second room, and the "A" through "D" buttons control the third through sixth rooms respectively. The keypad is unique in that it can be configured as a room, house, or general-purpose keypad for scene, zone, and/or automation functionality.

Wiring Diagram

The HLC Keypad Room Controller connects to standard 120VAC/60Hz household wiring at the main circuit breaker panel: connect the Black (Line) wire to the incoming hot leg, and the White (Neutral) wire to neutral.
