Overview

Installation guide for Leviton's Euro Style Self-Powered Wireless Light Switches (Cat. No. WSS0S-Exx) — battery-free wireless transmitters that generate their own power when pressed and communicate wirelessly with a range of compatible receivers.

How It Works

Every time either switch rocker is pressed, a small built-in micro-generator produces a small electrical current that powers a built-in transmitter. That transmitter sends a wireless signal commanding a paired receiver to turn a device off or on — and with the right receiver, can even control light dimming. No batteries, no wiring back to a control panel.

⚠ Warning

Programming & Activation

1. Make sure the switch is within 5 meters of the desired receiver when programming — receivers have reduced range while in programming mode.
2. Programming: To associate the wireless switch with a receiver, press the rocker while the receiver is in its Program Mode (see the receiver's own installation guide for how to enter Program Mode). Repeat for the second rocker if the model has one.
3. Activation: Once associated, simply press the rocker to control the load.

A battery-free wireless switch (WSS0S-E0x or E2x) can pair with a receiver such as a 5-Wire Relay to control a light fixture, or with an LV Room Controller / thermostat receiver to manage HVAC/PTAC equipment — all without running new low-voltage wiring back to a panel.

Limited 2-Year Warranty

Leviton warrants to the original consumer purchaser that this product is free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal, proper use for two years from the purchase date.
