    Installation instructions for the Leviton 95A03-TWH Thermostat Display Control (TDC), a remote keypad for Omnistat2 RC-2000 series thermostats.

    Installation instructions for the Leviton 95A03-TWH Thermostat Display Control (TDC), a flush-mounted remote keypad for Leviton's RC-2000 series Omnistat2 thermostats. Used alongside a 65A60-1 TDC Communication Interface, the TDC lets you view/set temperature, adjust fan and mode settings, and averages readings across up to 4 connected TDC sensors.

    Safety Warnings

    • WARNING: Never push objects into this product through openings — they may touch dangerous voltages.
    • WARNING: Never touch uninsulated wires or terminals unless the wiring has been disconnected at the network interface.
    • Never install communications wiring/components during a lightning storm.
    • Do not use near water (tub, sink, laundry tub, wet basement, pool).
    • Never install communications components in wet locations unless specifically designed for it.

    Required Components

    • Model 65A60-1 TDC Communication Interface
    • Omnistat2 RC-2000 series thermostat, firmware Version 1.05B or later

    Installation

    • The TDC connects to the TDC Communication Interface via Cat 5 unshielded twisted pair (UTP), terminated with RJ45 connectors on each end, wired to standard EIA/TIA 568A.
    • Maximum Cat 5 run between TDC and Communication Interface: 1500 feet.
    • Insert one RJ45 end into the jack labeled "U2" on the TDC Communication Interface; insert the other end into the jack on the TDC.
    • Up to 4 TDC keypads can be connected to a single TDC Communication Interface.

    Configuring the TDC (via the RC-2000 Thermostat)

    Some installation settings only appear once the TDC and Communication Interface are installed and communicating with the RC-2000.

    1. From the Home Page, press the Scroll Wheel.
    2. Turn the Scroll Wheel to highlight "Setup," press Scroll Wheel/[Select].
    3. Turn to highlight "Installation Settings," select it.
    4. Read the warning, then press [Continue].

    Temperature Sensors

    From Installation Settings, select "Temperature Sensors" to configure which sensors feed the displayed temperature. Sensors of the same type (indoor/outdoor) are averaged together.

    • Internal Sensor (onboard, indoor only) — default: Enabled
    • External Sensor 1 (indoor or outdoor) — default: Disabled
    • External Sensor 2 (expansion module, indoor or outdoor) — default: Disabled
    • TDC Sensor (indoor or outdoor) — default: Disabled

    By default the RC-2000 displays only its own internal sensor on the TDC. To average the RC-2000's internal sensor with the TDC sensor, set Internal Sensor to "Enabled" and TDC Sensor to "Indoor." To use only the TDC's own sensor, set Internal Sensor to "Disabled" and TDC Sensor to "Indoor." With multiple TDC keypads and TDC Sensor set to "Indoor," all TDC keypad sensors are averaged together.

    TDC Options

    From Installation Settings, select "TDC Options" to configure Periodic Flash and Eco Mode Setback.

    • Periodic Flash — Off (default): One minute after the last button press, the TDC display turns off and stays off until a button is pressed (then stays on for one minute).
    • Periodic Flash — On: Display turns on and shows temperature every 10 seconds (on for 3 seconds, off for 10 seconds), unless a button is pressed (then on for one minute).
    • Eco Mode Setback: Number of degrees the RC-2000's heat/cool setting is set back when in Eco Mode. Default: 4 degrees.

    Changing the TDC Color

    The TDC ships with a white faceplate, rubber keypad, and insert; other colors are available from your Leviton distributor.

    1. Remove the faceplate.
    2. The insert has two latches on each side. Using a small-blade screwdriver, gently depress each latch on one side while lifting the insert, then remove from the other side.
    3. Remove the rubber keypad.
    4. Insert the new rubber keypad, aligning the latches, and snap it into place.
    5. Attach the new faceplate.

    Operating the TDC

    • Changing temperature setting: Press the up/down arrow. The first press shows the setting for the current mode (snowflake = cool, flame = heat). Press Mode to switch to the setpoint for the opposite mode.
    • Changing mode: Press the Mode button to cycle through Cool (snowflake), Heat (flame), Auto (snowflake+flame with revolving arrows), and Off (circle with slash).
    • Changing fan setting: Press the Fan button to cycle through Fan Auto, Fan On, and Fan Cycle.
    • Eco Mode: Press and hold Mode or Fan until a leaf icon appears — heat/cool setpoints setback by the configured Eco Mode Setback amount. Exit by holding Fan or Mode again, or by adjusting the temperature directly.
