Legrand True Universal Lamp Module (LC2150) — Installation Instructions

Installation instructions for the Legrand True Universal Lamp Module (Catalog Number LC2150, Doc. #1507210) — a plug-in wireless lighting module that lets you control a lamp plugged directly into it, part of the radiant RF Lighting Control system.

Overview

The LC2150 plugs into a standard USA AC electrical outlet (120V @ 60Hz), and a lamp plugs directly into the module. It features Up/Down buttons and a status LED on the front. Made in China.

Load Support

• Incandescent/Halogen — 300W maximum
• Magnetic Low Voltage/Magnetic Ballast — 100VA maximum
• Electronic Low Voltage/CFL/LED — 300W maximum
• Electronic Ballast — 2.5A maximum

Installation

1. Plug the LC2150 into a 15amp 120V grounded receptacle.
2. Plug the lamp into the outlet at the base of the lamp module.
3. Check that the lamp is switched on by pressing the Up button on the lamp module.
4. If the light does not come on, put its switch into the On position and repeat the previous step.
5. If it still doesn't come on, check that the lamp works in a different outlet.

House Binding

All Legrand wireless lighting devices installed in the same home must be bound to each other.

1. Ensure all new devices to be bound have a status LED of solid Amber (factory default condition).
2. Press and hold both buttons on one device for 2 seconds until its status LED flashes Amber, indicating it acquired a house ID. All other devices should flash Green, indicating they acquired the same house ID.
3. On the same device you started with (still flashing Amber), press and hold both buttons for 2 seconds until its status LED goes to solid Green, indicating house binding was successful.

Group Binding

Because the LC2150 is normally plugged into an outlet that may be located behind a table or other furniture, it's usually group-bound to another wireless lighting device located in a more accessible area (higher on the wall, in an open space). Once group bound, the LC2150 operates just like the device it's bound to.

1. Press and hold both buttons for 2 seconds until the status LED flashes Amber.
2. All devices you want in the same group also need to flash Amber — go to those devices and press and hold their buttons (or both ends of their paddles) for 2 seconds to change them from flashing Green (not in a group) to flashing Amber (now in a group).
3. Return to the first device and press and hold both buttons (or paddle ends) for 2 seconds to go back to solid Green.

Normal Operation

• Tap Up once (if Off) — ramp to previous level
• Tap Up once (if On) — ramp to 100% level
• Tap Up twice — ramp to 100% level
• Press and hold Up — ramp level up
• Tap Down once (if On) — fade to Off
• Tap Down twice — fade to Off
• Press and hold Down — ramp level down

Custom Settings

Press and hold both buttons on the LC2150 for 10 seconds (instead of 2 for binding) — the LED flashes Green, and releasing the buttons puts the device into Custom Settings mode. There are 6 different settings, each identified by a number of blinks before a pause (e.g. blink, blink, pause = setting 2). Tapping both buttons advances to the next setting. Change a setting by tapping just the Up or Down button (LED flashes momentarily). Press and hold both buttons for 2 seconds (or wait 30 seconds of inactivity) to exit Custom Settings.

1. Locator Light On/Off (default: On; not part of the blink rotation)
2. Low End Trim (default: 2%) — load light level indicates the trim setting
3. High End Trim (default: 90%) — load light level indicates the trim setting
4. Dimmer/Switch Mode (default: Dimmer) — LED flashes Amber for Dimmer Mode, Red for Switch Mode
5. Forward/Reverse Phase Mode (default: Forward) — LED flashes Amber for Forward Phase, Red for Reverse Phase
6. No-Load Warning Indicator (default: Deactivated) — LED flashes Amber for Deactivated, Red for Activated

Return to Factory Default

Press and hold both buttons on the LC2150 for 20 seconds (instead of 2 for binding or 10 for Custom Settings) — the LED goes to solid Amber, and releasing the buttons puts the device into Factory Default Settings mode. At this point, the LC2150 is ready to be house-bound as part of a new or existing wireless lighting system.
