Legrand radiant LC2303 In-Wall Scene Controller — Installation Instructions

Installation instructions for the Legrand radiant™ LC2303 In-Wall Scene Controller — a wall-mounted control device that works with the LC7001 Lighting Controller to trigger up to four programmable lighting scenes from a standard electrical box.

⚠ Safety Warning

To prevent severe shock or electrocution, always disconnect power at the service panel before beginning work.

Failure to connect the ground wire will result in an unsafe installation that could lead to personal injury.

Installation Steps

1. Connect the switch/controller's ground wire to the bare ground wire in the electrical box; pre-fold ground wires into the back of the box.
2. Cut wires and strip insulation using the stripping guide on the back of the device. Use copper conductors only.
3. When replacing an existing device, label wires before disconnecting, then disconnect the old device.
4. Connect the new device as shown: insert wires into terminals and tighten screws securely — do not over-tighten (torque to 10 in-lbs).
   • Single load: connect white wire to WHITE terminal, black wire to HOT terminal.
   • If installing multiple devices in one box, wire all devices before installing them into the box.
5. Warning: Do not pair different-size wires in the same terminal. If wire gauges differ, use a wire nut to add a 6-inch pigtail of matching gauge to the smaller wire.
6. Carefully fold wires into the electrical box and secure the device using the provided screws.
7. Install the wall plate: for screwless plates, install the back plate with the provided screws and snap the wall plate into place; for screw-type plates, simply screw the plate over the device.

Removing a wall plate: insert a flat screwdriver into the notches on the back of the plate and twist gently.

Note: it is normal for the dimmer/controller to feel warm during operation. Protect it from dirt and dust.

House Binding (Pairing to the radiant/adorne System)

a. New installation (including a new Scene Controller)

1. With all devices installed and energized, confirm every new adorne/Radiant RF device LED is Amber. If any LED is off, check the circuit breaker and installation.
2. On the Scene Controller, press and hold the + and - buttons for 5 seconds. The Binding Status Indicator LED will flash Amber, indicating it has acquired a unique House ID.
3. Confirm all other adorne/Radiant device LEDs are flashing Green, indicating they've acquired the same House ID.
4. Return to the Scene Controller (still flashing Amber) and press-and-hold + and - for 5 seconds until the LED changes to Normal Operation mode — House Binding is complete.

b. Adding a new Scene Controller to an existing system

1. With the new Scene Controller installed and energized, confirm its LED is Amber.
2. Press and hold any already-bound dimmer/switch On/Off button or Whisper Paddle top for 5 seconds and release — its status LED flashes Amber (initiator).
3. The new Scene Controller and all other device LEDs flash Green.
4. Press and hold the initiator's On/Off button for 5 seconds and release — both LEDs flash Green for 2 seconds then switch to Normal Operation mode, completing House Binding.

c. Once bound, the Scene Controller is ready to execute scenes with the LC7001 Lighting Controller.

Scenes

Out of the box, the Scene Controller has no scenes stored for any of its 4 buttons except Button 4.

• Button 4 default — MASTER_OFF: a non-togglable scene that automatically turns OFF all lights programmed to be ON by scenes on other buttons. The MASTER_OFF scene can be reassigned to any button via the app.
• Adding to the LC7001 app: open Settings → "In Wall Scene Controllers" → tap "+" in the upper-right corner → the "Add a Scene Controller" popup appears → press any key on the physical Scene Controller to connect → name the controller.
• Night Mode: configurable per Scene Controller in the app's Settings. When enabled, all LEDs on that controller turn off after 30 seconds of no activity; any key press restores them to their previous state.
• Button behavior — 2 choices:
  • Toggle Scene On/Off: first press turns the scene's lights ON, second press turns them OFF.
  • Execute Scene: every press re-runs the scene's specified actions (e.g. always turns Lights 1,2,3 ON).
• Each button is called a "Bank" in the app. Any scene, including MASTER_OFF, can be assigned to any of the 4 buttons — or no scene at all.
• Press Save (upper-right of the app) after configuring. The LC7001 controller supports up to 20 Scene Controllers total.

Factory Reset

1. Press and hold the + and - buttons for at least 15 seconds.
2. The middle indicator LED on the paddle will begin blinking Amber, then become solid Amber — indicating the Scene Controller has no House ID and the buttons can be released.

RF Exposure Safety

In accordance with FCC human RF exposure requirements, this wall-mounted device must maintain a minimum separation distance of 20cm (7.9 inches) from the body of any person during operation — typical use (wall-mounted, not hand-held) already satisfies this.
