    Overview

Catalog Number: HT22U2. Country of Origin: Made in China. The kit consists of a recessed power inlet assembly, receptacle, wall plate, and mud-ring for routing power and low-voltage cables (Ethernet, Coax, HDMI) behind a wall-mounted flat panel TV, eliminating visible cords.

    Safety Warnings

    • WARNING: Improper wiring of any electrical wiring device can cause serious injury or death. These wiring devices should be installed only by an electrician or other qualified person in accordance with all appropriate codes and standards.
    • WARNING: To avoid risk of fire or shock, ensure the power cable is unplugged and power is off to the outlet box before beginning work.
    • CAUTION: This device is for use only with copper or copper-clad wire. Do not use with aluminum wire.

    Installation Tools Needed

    • Stud finder
    • Level
    • Pencil
    • Drywall saw
    • Screwdriver (Phillips & slotted)

    Installation Steps

    1. Wire the receptacle. Push the exposed end of the cable through the electrical box opening. Fully insert #14 AWG solid copper wire ONLY into the push-wire holes — BLACK wire on the side labeled HOT, WHITE wire on the side labeled WHITE. Wrap bare copper ground wire ¾ turn clockwise around the green grounding screw and tighten. Do not use push-wire holes for circuits greater than 15 amps.
    2. Mount the receptacle. Screw the receptacle to the electrical box with the included screws. Insert cabling and the electrical box through the top recessed box opening and screw down the box corners until secure. Attach the wall plate. Restore power only when installation is finished.
    3. Installation preparation. Use a level, pencil, and mud-ring or cutting template to trace the cutting outline for the power inlet at outlet level (or 18" from the floor). Use a level, pencil, and template to trace the cutting outline for the recessed box behind the intended TV location.
    4. Rough-in and power inlet cable connection. Cut drywall for the recessed box and mud-ring. Feed the power cable down through the recessed box hole and out through the mud-ring. Use a screwdriver and the two provided screws to secure the molded male plug end of the power cable to the power inlet assembly.
    5. Accessory cable installation and trim-out. Feed any Ethernet, Coax, or HDMI cables through the brush strap and down the wall cavity to exit through the power inlet. Pull cabling through the power inlet before using a screwdriver and two provided screws to secure the power inlet to the mud ring. Finish by attaching the included wall plate. Connect cabling to equipment and the supplied power cord to the nearest AC outlet.

    Cutting Templates

Cutting templates for both the power inlet (7 1/8" wide) and the recessed box (5 3/8" wide) are printed on the last page of the instruction sheet — use these full-size templates directly for marking drywall cutouts.
