Legrand On-Q AU7007 — Digital Audio Global Source Input Installation

Installation instructions for the Legrand On-Q AU7007 Digital Audio Global Source Input, a single-gang wall-mounted analog audio input for the AU7000 series whole-home digital audio distribution system.

Overview

The AU7007 Global Source Input is a single-gang, wall-mounted input connected to the Digital Audio system over a single Cat 5 cable. It accepts analog audio through its 1/8″ stereo headphone jack, converts the signal to AES3 digital format, and sends it to the AU7000 hub over that same Cat 5 run. Once connected, any user can select the AU7007 as a source from any keypad in the system.

The AU7007 works alongside other AU7000-series components: the AU7000 hub itself, AU7001 Digital Audio Input Module, AU7004 Expansion Module, AU7008 Local Source Inputs, AU7010 Amplified Keypads, and a PW1020 power supply.

Installation Steps

1. Run a Cat 5 cable from the enclosure to a single-gang box at the eventual location of the AU7007, and terminate the cable at each end with an RJ45 plug wired to the T568A standard.
2. At the AU7007 location, plug the terminated Cat 5 cable from the enclosure into the rear of the AU7007, mount the AU7007 into the single-gang box, and attach the wall plate.
3. At the enclosure, plug the terminated Cat 5 cable from the remote AU7007 into one of the four "Source" ports on the AU7000, then apply power to the AU7000.
4. Plug an appropriate analog audio source into the 1/8″ stereo headphone jack on the front of the AU7007. That music source will then be available to anyone who selects the AU7007 as a source on their keypad.
