    Ratings & Compliance

    • 120VAC, 15A resistive; 15A general purpose; 1800W incandescent; 1/2 hp motor; 15A standard ballast; 15A electronic ballast
    • Not suitable as a disconnect. Use only with the Legrand adorne system.
    • FCC ID: YV8-202860; Canadian IC: 9922A-202860. Complies with FCC Part 15 and Industry Canada RSS standards.

    Safety Warnings

To prevent severe shock or electrocution, always disconnect power at the service panel before beginning work. When replacing an existing device, label wires before disconnecting the old device.

Failure to connect the ground wire will result in an unsafe installation that could lead to personal injury.

    Installation Steps

    1. Remove the spacers from the adorne frame. Since the Whisper Switch fills the frame completely, spacers are not needed — from the back of the frame, pinch the tabs on each spacer to release it.
    2. Cut wires and strip insulation using the stripping guide on the back of the device. Use copper conductors only.
    3. Connect the frame's ground wire to the bare ground wire in the box. Fold ground wires into the back of the box. Mount the frame to the wall box with the provided screws — tighten just enough to hold the frame in place; do NOT over-tighten.
    4. Single load wiring: connect white wire to WHITE, black wire to HOT, red wire to LOAD. Insert wires into terminals and tighten screws securely (torque to 10 in-lbs, do not over-tighten).
    5. If installing multiple devices in one box, wire all devices before installing them into the box.
    6. Carefully fold wires into the box, then snap the device(s) into the frame.
    7. Snap the wall plate onto the frame. There are three click-stops for how the plate aligns with the device's front surface: first click = flush fit; second click = device protrudes slightly; third click = device protrudes fully.

    Wiring Warning

Do not pair different-size wires in the same terminal. If wire gauges differ, use a wire nut to add a 6-inch pigtail of the same gauge as the smaller wire before connecting.

    Tips

    • Pre-fold wires into the wall box to make it easier to fit them in the box when the device is connected.
    • Use caution to avoid marring the wall surface with the metal frame.

    Removing a Device

To remove a device from the frame, first remove the frame from the wall box. Insert a flat screwdriver from the back of the frame and depress the tabs on the device to unlock it and push it forward. To remove a wall plate, insert a flat screwdriver in the notches on the back of the plate and twist gently.

    New Installation

    1. Ensure all device status LEDs are solid AMBER.
    2. Press and hold any dimmer/switch On/Off Button or Whisper Paddle Top for 5 seconds and release — the initiator's LED flashes AMBER, other devices' LEDs flash GREEN.
    3. Press and hold the initiator's On/Off Button or Whisper Paddle Top for 5 seconds and release — both LEDs flash GREEN for 2 seconds then turn solid WHITE.

Adding a Device to an Existing Installation

    1. Confirm the new device's LED is solid AMBER (others solid WHITE).
    2. Press and hold any already-bound device's On/Off Button or Whisper Paddle Top for 5 seconds and release — initiator flashes AMBER, new device flashes GREEN.
    3. Press and hold the initiator's On/Off Button or Whisper Paddle Top for 5 seconds and release — both flash GREEN for 2 seconds then turn solid WHITE.

    Groups

Creating a new group: ensure all potential members' LEDs are solid WHITE. Press and hold each potential member's On/Off Button or Whisper Paddle Top for 5 seconds until its LED flashes AMBER. Then press and hold the initiator's control for 5 seconds — all LEDs flash GREEN for 2 seconds and turn solid WHITE.

Adding/removing a device: press and hold any existing group device's control for 5 seconds — current members flash AMBER, non-members flash GREEN. Press and hold any device's control for 5 seconds so its LED flashes AMBER (join) or GREEN (leave), then confirm via the initiator.
