Legrand adorne AI6100M1 — Wireless Video Intercom Kit User's Guide

User's Guide for the Legrand adorne™ Wireless Video Intercom Kit (AI6100M1) and the companion Wireless Video Room Unit (AI6000M1). This wireless 2.4GHz video intercom system pairs a Video Door Unit with up to three Video Room Units for whole-home door answering, room-to-room messaging, and monitoring.

System Overview

The AI6100M1 Wireless Video Intercom Kit consists of one Video Door Unit and one Video Room Unit packaged together. Up to two additional Video Room Units (AI6000M1, sold separately) can be added to build out a maximized system with up to three room units total.

• Wireless Video Door Unit: Powered by existing doorbell wiring (16–20V AC) and mounted on the door frame, OR powered by six AA batteries (not included, ~6 months typical life) for door-frame or center-of-door mounting. Comes with angled door-frame mounting brackets, a flat center-of-door mounting bracket, and a doorbell power kit.
• Wireless Video Room Unit: Includes its own AC adapter, a wall-mount bracket, and a folding tabletop stand. Supports English, French, and Spanish; 88 selectable Room Names, 19 Door Names, 7 GUI menu color themes, and 18 doorbell tones. Room Units can also send/receive text-free voice messages between each other.
• Wireless range: Up to 200 ft. line of sight, or up to 75 ft. obstructed.

User Interface

Each Room Unit has a master room icon (only one Master Room Unit exists per system — typically the first unit powered on and configured), a video door icon, an LCD display showing the unit's name/other paired units/date-time, and physical buttons: Message, Mute, Setup, navigation arrows, and Talk/Select.

• Only the Master Video Room Unit can create custom Door Greetings or retrieve a message left at the Door Unit.
• Non-master Room Units display no house icon.
• Status icons (Busy, Monitor, Mute) appear to the left of a unit's name to show its current state.
• Up/Down navigation moves the on-screen highlight; Talk/Select opens a highlighted sub-menu or answers the door; Left acts as Back; Left/Right also raise/lower Room Unit volume when idle.

System Personalization (Setup Menu)

Naming

From Setup → Naming, assign a Door Unit name (19 preset options, e.g. "Front Door") and a Room Unit name (88 preset options) using the Up/Down arrows and Talk/Select.

Room Settings

• Theme: 7 background/text color themes to choose from.
• Chime Volume: Adjustable in 5% increments.
• Display Timeout: 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, or Never.
• Brightness Control: Adjustable screen brightness.

Door Settings

• Chime: 18 built-in door chimes, previewed live as you scroll; a final option routes to an External System Chime (existing doorbell wiring) — a physical chime MUST be attached to the doorbell wiring if this option is selected.
• Chime Volume / Voice Volume: Adjustable in 5% increments.
• Door Messaging: ON/OFF (default OFF). When ON, a prompt plays 25 seconds after an unanswered doorbell press, inviting the visitor to press the doorbell again to leave a message. If they don't press within 10 seconds of the prompt, the Door Unit returns to normal operation.
• Message Length: 15, 20 (default), 25, or 30 seconds.

Time/Date Settings

Set hour/minute (Right arrow or Talk/Select to switch fields, Up/Down to adjust) and month/day/year the same way.

System Settings

Select display language (English, French, Spanish), add or remove paired Room/Door Units, run System Diagnostics, or perform a System Reset.

Adding / Removing Units

• Add a unit: Power on the new Room Unit (or Door Unit) — it will beep twice at a regular interval. On the Master Unit, highlight "Add New Paired Unit" and press Talk/Select; the Master beeps three times once pairing completes. Only one unit can be paired at a time.
• Remove a unit: On the Master Unit, highlight "Remove Paired Unit," select the unit from the list, and press Talk/Select.
• After a full system reset, power up the Door Unit first and pair it to the new Master before adding additional Room Units.

System Diagnostics & Reset

If Legrand Tech Support asks you to run diagnostics, go to Setup → System Settings → System Diagnostics; a results pop-up will display info to read back to support.

System Reset erases all names/settings on that unit. Before resetting the whole system, record your current configuration and (if instructed) remove paired units first from the Master. To reset the Door Unit specifically, hold its doorbell button for ~10 seconds until it beeps and begins beeping twice every few seconds (unpaired state).

System Operation

• Answering the Door: All Room Units display the door camera image and play the selected chime. The first unit to press Talk/Select connects (Talk Hands Free Mode, ~1 minute); other units show a "Busy" icon next to that unit's name.
• Calling Another Room Unit: Highlight the target unit and press Talk/Select. Sessions last 1 minute; either side can press Talk/Select again to end early or start a new session.
• Door Messaging: If Door Messaging is ON and no one answers within 25 seconds, the visitor is prompted to leave a message (15–30 sec, adjustable).
• Recording a Door Greeting: Press Message → "Record/Send Greeting" → Record (Talk/Select to start/stop) → Play to review → Left arrow to lock it in. This custom greeting plays instead of the built-in prompt.
• Recording & Sending a Message: Press Message → "Record/Send Message" → choose the destination Room Unit → Record/Play/Send. Up to 3 outbound messages can be stored for reuse; each Room Unit holds up to 10 incoming messages (the 11th overwrites the oldest).
• Playing a Message: Press the flashing Message Button, highlight "Play Message," select from the incoming queue, and press Talk/Select.
• Mute: Press the Mute Button to silence a Room Unit's speaker (do-not-disturb) — a mute icon appears next to that unit's name system-wide.
• Monitor: Press the Monitor Button on a Room Unit to let all other units hear that room's sounds (baby monitor style) — a monitor icon appears system-wide.

Battery-Powered Door Unit Differences

• The doorbell light is not illuminated (battery conservation).
• The unit fully powers down after an inactivity timeout — you cannot call or preview the Door Unit's camera from a Room Unit while it's asleep.
• Custom Door Greetings and external chime wiring are not available on battery power.
• After changing the doorbell chime, the first doorbell press only wakes the unit and plays the old chime; press again to hear the newly selected chime.
