Instruction manual for the Jasco (Enbrighten) Slim Smart Door/Window Sensor (model 52249 / ZW6308) — a Z-Wave certified sensor with dual vertical/horizontal detection contacts for versatile door and window mounting.

Adding the Sensor to a Z-Wave Network

Manual Mode

1. Follow your Z-Wave certified controller's instructions to add the sensor to the network.
2. Once the controller is ready to add the sensor, ensure the battery is installed with correct polarity and the battery tab has been removed.
3. Press and release the programming button — the red LED begins flashing quickly to start the add process.
4. The red LED activates for 3 seconds to confirm the sensor was added to the network.
5. The controller's app will indicate if it discovered the sensor. If prompted for the S2 security code, refer to the QR code/security number on the box or the QR label on the product, and enter the 5-digit code.

Note: your controller may need to be within 10ft. of the sensor to add it. SmartStart-enabled controllers can add the product automatically (within 10 minutes) just by scanning the product's QR code — no further action required.

Removing the Sensor from the Network

1. Follow your controller's instructions to remove the sensor.
2. Press and release the programming button 1 time to remove it from the network.
3. The red LED will blink 5 times to confirm removal.

Disabling the LED on Trigger

1. Quickly press the programming button 3 times, then press and hold it 1 time. When successful, the LED blinks 2 times.
2. To revert to the default ON setting, repeat the same sequence — the LED blinks 1 time when successful.

Factory Reset

Press the programming button 10 times within 6 seconds (no more than 1 second between presses). This also removes the sensor from the Z-Wave network. The red LED activates for 2 seconds, followed by 3 quick flashes. Only do this if your network's primary controller is missing or inoperable.

Installation — Preparing the Sensor

The sensor is for indoor use only. Installation has two parts: the sensor (mounts on the door or window) and the magnet (mounts on the door frame or window frame — use only one magnet). The sensor's dual internal detection contacts support left- or right-opening doors, and vertically- or horizontally-opening windows.

Two magnet sizes are included: a narrow magnet (max gap distance 1/2 in.) and a wide, stronger magnet (max gap distance 1 in.). Position the magnet to align with the edge of the sensor — surface-mounted with the wide magnet, or edge-mounted (recessed) with the narrow magnet, depending on door/window style.

Mounting Steps

1. Peel and remove the paper backing from the double-sided tape on the back of the battery door, and apply it.
2. Clean and dry the mounting surface of the door or window before mounting.
3. Position the sensor on the door or window and apply firm pressure to secure it.
4. Remove the paper backing from the selected magnet (narrow or wide — already has double-sided tape attached). Align it with the edge of the sensor within the correct gap distance.
5. When installing on windows, there may be no gap distance needed.
6. After installation, slide the sensor up and off the battery door — it is now ready to add to the Z-Wave network.

Replacing the Battery

1. Slide the battery door down and remove it (or slide up and off if mounted).
2. Place the sensor on a flat surface. While holding it secure, press down on the lower edge of the battery with a pen to lift the upper end.
3. Insert the new battery lower end first (under the side ribs), plus side up, and press down on the upper end to secure it.

Cosmetic Covers

The top cover of the sensor is paintable or removable, and can be replaced with color-match covers in black, brown, or red (sold separately, available at ezzwave.com). To remove: slide the sensor off the battery door (or remove the battery door), insert a small flat screwdriver into the side hold, and gently pry apart. Snap on the new cover.
