Operation instructions for the Intrasonic Technology V500 IP Video Monitor — a video door intercom (indoor monitor) supporting outdoor doorbell cameras, network/WiFi connectivity, mobile app control, and remote web browser access.

    Overview

The V500 IP Video Monitor is the indoor unit of a video intercom system. It works with one or two outdoor doorbell cameras (Door1/Door2), supports internal communication between multiple indoor units, and can be accessed remotely via the "IST VIEW" mobile app or a web browser over the local network or WAN.

    Menu Navigation

The device uses a single three-in-one control button ("O") for all menu navigation:

    • In standby mode, press "O" once to enter the main menu.
    • In the main menu, scroll "O" up or down to select a sub-menu, then press "O" to enter it.
    • In sub-menu settings, press "O" to select an option, scroll up/down to adjust the value, then press "O" to confirm.
    • Selecting "Return" and pressing "O" (or pressing "Hang Up") exits back to standby mode.
    • Red characters indicate a selected option; flashing red characters indicate the option is currently in edit mode.

    Ring Settings

    • Ring Select: Choose the doorbell tone for Door1 or Door2 (12 tones each). "Ring" On/Off controls whether the visitor hears a ringing tone at the outdoor bell after calling.
    • Ring Volume: Three independently adjustable ring volume levels (Ring Vol1/2/3, range 00–10) for three different time periods; vibrate/ring duration adjustable from 10s to 45s per call.
    • Silence Mode (Do Not Disturb): When enabled for a configured time period, the indoor monitor stays muted when the outdoor doorbell calls or an alert occurs. Can be disabled manually via the Silence Mode menu.

    Network Connection Methods

    Wired Network

    1. Connect a network conversion adapter with a 4-pin interface to JA1 on the indoor monitor, and connect the keystone jack of the network cable to the 4-pin interface.
    2. Connect the outdoor camera(s) and CCTV camera(s) to the 4-pin terminal on the indoor monitor.
    3. Power on the indoor monitor.
    4. Wait until a beep sounds — the indoor monitor has started completely.

    WiFi Wireless Network

Devices with WiFi capability can operate wirelessly. If a network cable is connected, WiFi parameters can be set via IE browser (Network → WiFi settings). Without a wired cable, use a wireless router plus a smartphone/tablet (iOS or Android) and configure WiFi via the "IST VIEW" app and AP mode (see below).

    AP Mode

    • Automatic: On factory-default parameters, the monitor automatically enters AP mode after power-on if no network is detected (after ~40 seconds, all button LEDs blink). Configure WiFi using the "IST VIEW" app while in this state.
    • Manual: Navigate to System → Network → Enter AP Mode. The device reboots automatically; once all button LEDs are flashing, AP mode is ready.
    • If AP mode is entered but WiFi isn't activated via the app within 10 minutes, the device automatically exits AP mode and returns to its previous connection mode.
    • To exit AP mode manually: System → Network → Exit AP Mode (device reboots and exits AP mode).

    Web Browser Access

The V500 supports remote viewing via web browser over LAN or WAN, using either IP address or domain name. Recommended browsers: Internet Explorer 6–11, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome, on Windows XP/7/8. Run Internet Explorer as Administrator on Windows 7/8/8.1 (not required on XP). Disable the firewall and any active antivirus software before configuring remote access.

    1. Open a web browser and enter the device's IP address (http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) — found via the "IST VIEW" app's LAN Search, or use a public IP if the device is on the WAN.
    2. On first PC access, a prompt appears to install a required player component. Click "Download Player," extract the "IPDoor.zip" file, and run "IPDoorSetup.exe" to install the indoor unit's OCX control.
    3. After installation, log in with the default username Admin and default password 888888. Select the display language, choose the network stream (Main Flow or Minor Flow), and select the door/camera number (Door1, Door2, Camera1, or Camera2).
    4. Check "Auto Login" to automatically enter the Home interface on future visits from the same PC/browser.

    Mobile App Setup ("IST VIEW")

    1. Ensure the smartphone/tablet and the indoor monitor are connected to the same WiFi network.
    2. In the app, go to "Door Intercom Monitor" → "Connect New Device" → select "Existing" (for previously configured devices) or "New" (for first-time setup), then press Confirm.
    3. Devices online on the same WiFi network appear in a list showing each device's ID and LAN IP address — select via QR code scan, LAN search, or manual IP entry.

    Internal Communication Between Indoor Units

Requires at least two indoor units connected. From standby mode, press the intercom button — a continuous ring tone sounds on the other unit(s). Press the talk button on any indoor unit to start a conversation between units. Press "Hang Up" to end and return to standby.

If a visitor presses the outdoor doorbell call button while units are in internal communication, internal communication is switched off automatically — the visitor's image appears with continuous ringing, and pressing the talk button reactivates conversation with the visitor.

    Call Transfer to Another Extension

While talking to an outdoor camera visitor, press the transfer button to activate call transfer. The original conversation unit returns to standby, while the target extension sounds a continuous ring tone and displays the visitor's video. During the call, the electric door lock can be opened, and the call can end with the system returning to standby automatically.

    Important Operating Notes

    • Motion detection supports only one channel at a time — activating motion detection on Door1 disables it for the other channel simultaneously. Configure via IE browser or the IST VIEW app.
    • The TF (memory) card can be formatted remotely via the IST VIEW app or IE browser; it must use the FAT32 file system.
    • The TF card stores video recordings or snapshots triggered by the outdoor doorbell (see Event-Record configuration).
    • Unlock timing differs by method: unlocking via the "IST VIEW" app uses the same unlock time for Door1 and Door2, matching the "Device Information → Unlock Time" menu setting. Unlocking directly on the monitor allows different unlock times per door, matching "Mode → Door1/Door2 Unlock Time" settings.
    • If no operation occurs on the indoor monitor, it automatically enters standby mode after 1 minute.
    • When "Key Backlight" is set to On, all button backlight LEDs illuminate when any button is pressed or a visitor calls; in standby mode, backlights turn off after 10 seconds of inactivity.
    • All button LEDs is flashing indicates the indoor monitor is ready in AP mode.
