    Overview

    The ION Digital PLUNGER™ is a fully concealed wireless door security sensor, hidden inside the door jamb rather than mounted on the surface. It's designed for residential and commercial applications where an invisible, tamper-resistant door sensor is preferred over a traditional surface-mount contact.

    • Easy to install — only a drill, a 3/4" Forstner bit, and a 1/4" wood bit (for antenna insertion) are required
    • Composition — micro-processor, micro-transmitter, lithium battery, and an optimized antenna for superior zone signal

    Installation Steps

    1. Measure and drill for the Plunger — use a 3/4" Forstner bit to drill into the door jamb to a 1-1/4" depth.
    2. Drill for the antenna — drill a 1/4" hole through the center of the cavity through the door jamb so the antenna can pass through the jamb frame and supporting studs.
    3. Slide on the antenna guide (straw) — slide the Plunger's antenna into the supplied antenna guide. Always keep the antenna straight — never cut or coil it. You may fold the antenna in half if space is a concern (this may affect range).
    4. Place and set — insert the Plunger and antenna into the door jamb.

    How It Works A captive magnet within the plunger activates a reed switch when the plunger is depressed. Note: the sensor typically protrudes 0.060" beyond the door jamb (protrusion may vary slightly).
