Datasheet for the Inovonics EN3942XS Two-Way Serial Data RF Module — a line-powered daughter board transceiver for integrating third-party products into the Inovonics EchoStream Commercial Mesh Network.

Overview

The EN3942XS is a line-powered two-way serial data transceiver designed to physically interface with your product as a daughter board for use in the EchoStream Commercial Mesh Network. Serial data sent to the EN3942XS from your remote application controller is formatted by the transceiver and transmitted through the network. Likewise, RF messages received by the EN3942XS are formatted and sent as serial data to your remote application controller device.

Power Requirements

Physical Characteristics

The module measures approximately 3.229" x 1.529" overall, with a 0.1" pin pitch. Pin functions along the connector edge include: Data Output, Data Input, No Connection, Tamper In, Reset, Power, Ground, and a second No Connection pin, plus a dedicated antenna connection point.

Operating Environment

-4°F to 140°F, up to 90% relative humidity, non-condensing.

System Requirements

• Requires an RS232 logic-level serial interface with a remote application controller to provide serial data to the module.
• Requires use of the EN6040 network coordinator or an Inovonics serial receiver, plus a VAR-developed application controller designed to support the serial messages.

Note: The EN3942XS cannot send or receive RF messages to or from other Inovonics end devices — it can only communicate with the network coordinator and repeaters.
