Quick Start Guide for the HomeSeer HT-PRO-G1 HomeTroller PRO — a dedicated smart home automation controller running HomeSeer's HS4 PRO software.

    Overview

This guide covers the essential setup steps: initial registration, navigating the HS4 web interface, installing plugins, creating devices and events, MyHS remote access, and the HomeSeer Mobile app.

    1. Setup & Registration

    1. Unpack the HomeTroller and AC power supply. Connect an Ethernet cable to the unit and attach it to your router or network switch.
    2. Connect the AC power supply and plug it in. The unit powers on by itself and HS4 PRO launches automatically.
    3. Access the web interface to register your controller — either connect a keyboard, monitor, and mouse directly to the unit, or navigate to http://find.homeseer.com from another computer on your network.
    4. Enter your HS4 License ID & Password, create your HS4 web user account, follow the prompts, and click FINISH.

Note: If upgrading from HS3, you'll also be prompted for your HS3 software codes.

    2. Navigation Overview

HS4 is a mobile-friendly web application usable on any browser-equipped device. Essential functions are accessed from the main navigation bar:

    • Devices: Add, remove, and edit smart home devices
    • Events: Manage smart home automations
    • Cameras: View live camera feeds and recordings
    • Setup: Manage system settings
    • Tools: Access timers, counters, backup, logs, and more
    • Plugins: Manage HS4 integration plugins

    3. Installing Plugins

Plugins let HS4 integrate with smart devices/technologies (e.g. a Philips Hue plugin for Philips Hue bulbs).

    1. Open the HS4 web interface and navigate to Plugins → Add. All available plugins appear.
    2. Click the plugin you want, then click INSTALL.
    3. Once installed, click the button in the lower right corner to enable the plugin. Check the plugin's own documentation for setup details.

    4. Creating Devices

Devices are the fundamental building blocks of any HS4 system. Adding a smart product to your system automatically creates a corresponding software device, with attributes displayed as "Features" (some controllable, some display-only status/values). Devices are added via each plugin's own controls and procedures — refer to individual plugin documentation for details.

    5. Creating Events

Events are automation rules comprised of at least one Trigger and one Action, with optional Conditions on any trigger. Example: turning on a living room lamp at sunset on Tuesdays.

    6. MyHS (Remote Access Service)

MyHS provides remote access to your HS4 system and integrates with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and IFTTT. MyHS Basic is free; premium paid plans add more features.

    Registering a New MyHS Account

    1. Visit myhs.homeseer.com and click Register
    2. Use the SAME email address & password as your HS4 web user account, and enter your HS4 license ID and password — this becomes your primary license
    3. Click the verification link in the email you receive (check spam if not received) to log in and connect via the MyHS web page

Updating an Existing MyHS Account (upgrading from HS3)

    1. Visit myhs.homeseer.com, enter your credentials, then select Manage Account
    2. Click Change Primary System, and enter your old license ID/password combo plus the new one (recover forgotten credentials via the Software Licensing Issues section)

    7. HomeSeer Mobile App

Available for Android and iOS. Lets you control smart devices, launch HS4 events, access cameras, and create custom dashboards for commonly used devices.

    Connecting to HS4

    1. Launch HomeSeer Mobile and select "Log in to MyHS"
    2. Enter your MyHS account credentials (tap Remember Me to skip re-entering each time)
    3. Tap Log In to connect to your system
