Installation instructions for The DoorMan "TES2" telephone entry intercom system by Holovision.
Installation instructions for The DoorMan "TES2" Intercom Unit (Manual Type 107 DM R1) by Holovision — a telephone entry system that connects a front and back door to every phone in the house, letting the homeowner answer visitors from any handset.
The DoorMan telephone entry system provides communication between the front door and every phone in the house. When the doorbell button is pressed, phones throughout the house ring with a distinctive ring pattern, and the homeowner can speak to the visitor by answering any ringing phone. The DoorMan is a 2-door system (front door, back door), with an optional T-RLY relay board available for gate/lock control.
Note: Voltage from telephones is not necessary for the system to work (see the "No CO Operation" configuration below). The connection between the main board and the speaker board is polarity-sensitive — follow the wiring diagram in the original manual carefully.
Shipped disabled by default. Use this option if external door chimes are installed and the phones should not ring when the doorbell button is pressed.
Shipped disabled by default. Use this option if there is no CO (Central Office) telephone line to the home — for example, if homeowners use cell phones only. In this case, several phones would be required throughout the house solely to answer door phone calls.
| Door 1 | 3 groups of 3 rings (ring ring ring), (ring ring ring), (ring ring ring) |
| Door 2 | 3 groups of 2 rings (ring ring), (ring ring), (ring ring) |
The T-RLY (Part Number 9408-3) is an optional relay board mounted to the TES main board using the supplied metal standoffs, which also make the electrical connection. Connect the gate to the relay terminal for Door 1 or Door 2. If installed, the door latch/gate relay can be activated by pressing "6" on a connected phone — the relay activates for 5 seconds. To increase the activation time, hold down the "6" key for the desired duration.
When you hear the distinctive ring pattern: within 10 seconds, simply pick up any telephone to be connected to the door speaker that initiated the call. After 10 seconds, pick up any telephone, press flash, and you'll be connected to Door 1; to connect to Door 2, pick up the phone, flash, and press "2."
TES2 has built-in call waiting. If a house phone is in use when the door button is pushed, the caller receives a call-waiting tone. Flash to answer the door call, and flash again to return to the original call.
Users can switch to the other door station at any time by pressing "1" or "2" while connected to Door 1 or Door 2.
To call a door station from a house phone, go off-hook and flash for Door 1, or go off-hook and flash "2" for Door 2.
